|MalROM|WM6.5.3 (23518)|WM6.5 (21889) [Feb 3rd]

This is my own custom ROM that I have been working on in private for a few weeks. I get a lot of requests to share my setups and ROM preferences, so here you go.

This ROM has a lot of custom tweaks and optimizations meant to make the device as quick as possible (listed below). In fact, I think you'll be quite surprised at how responsive it by way of comparison.

It was built on a heavily modified SSK (Scott's Simply Kitchen), so please feel free to donate to him for providing that platform. I also borrowed a few ingredients from Calkulin's kitchen. Having said that, a majority of what was done to this ROM is not found in either.

This ROM has been beta tested by numerous folks over the last few weeks, notably BigD5, who was indispensable for feedback. I'd also like to thank Fards, Mr. Makk and especially Redd214 & Rawdikrik (for custom Action Screen).

I have been running this ROM in one version or another for weeks best way to describe it is smooth fast and stable. this is a 6.5.3 ROM that realy works no excuses. I have tested many different ROMs from all the big name chefs and this ROM by far is the fastest and most stable that I have seen. Thanks goes to Mal for all his hard work and for keeping me up till the middle of the night flashing new versions.

Just kidding Mal.

I don't believe so. I didn't need to do any of that.

Great rom btw only thing I can't find is a Remote Desktop Mobile cab as it doesn't seem to be included in the rom.

Yeah, no provisioning .cab needed.

Didn't add Remote Desktop--may add it later if enough people need it, but I figured there are .cab laying around if folks need to install.

@darren.wlsn1 yeah, meant to test out that program. May cook it into a revision in a few days.

wow, great rom, some things ive never seen in a rom like the text icons on bottom of screen while surfing, love that deal. weather found my small town and no rom has ever found it. mms works outa the box, big plus. like the commanager icons, nice to see something diff. ive never used anything from scotts kitchen so lots of stuff is new to me. this opera10 is even sweet and i barely liked 9.7. sprint tv mightbe a issue, mines not working but theres a fix. if anybody uses hotmail or windows live, i can post the needed cab. lots of ram is nice also.

Will try to incorporate in the next release. Glad to hear it works, I was a little concerned seeing that's so early in development.

I am excited to get home and flash this rom =). So sprint tv isn't working huh? Also, does anyone have a cab of opera 9.7? I am not as big of a fan of 10 because I don't like the way it formats websites (basically how it scrunches up the text)

Malatesta,
I love the way this rom runs and gives me larger fonts on my screen better than any other rom I have used and it is speedy. Very well done and thanks to SSK as well. Will look forward to any future updates.

some sites wont bookmark on the "squares"page, to try there just hit the 2 white boxes on bottom of page and hit the "+" to add the visual. you can also hit the wrench then the heart(bookmark) and that works.

It's a single manila file that you'll have to drop into \Windows. Will post later when I get a chance.

Sounds like you launched from Touch Flow the first time go back to touch flow and use the device manager to close Opera. Device manager is in the upper right corner of the screen it is hidden but it is there. After closing Opera go to the start menu and open Opera again from there you have to accept the terms and conditions after that you wont have any more issues.

It's pretty final unless some major bugs are found, but I'm pretty positive those were identified in my pre-release testing.

I will update the OS as new WM6.5.x builds leak out and I'll update files as needed. I just got the T-Mobile HD2 ROM which has a ton of new Manila/HTC service files in it. Gonna take me some time to port over, but when I do I may add those, though I'm not expecting any noticeable difference to you, the end user.

Glad you folks are enjoying it :-P

Loving this ROM!!

Great job Mal. I, like most here am a serial ROM flasher and have used most posted on this site. Thus far, this definitely goes into the pantheon of great uniquely tweaked ROMs. I love attention to detail and this ROM has it.
