Been running the 8-31 rom for a few days now and I keep getting one little problem - the sms tab in a sense contact (not on the main sense interface) goes completely black and wont revert back to the black on white interface unless I hard reset. I've put up with it cuz I could just go to the WM SMS interface and view/send my texts that way. Do you know of a way to disable the sense messaging in this version of sense so that when I open a txt from the main sense interface, it just opens up WM SMS?

Other than that, ROM is running AMAZING!

yes, this rom is amazing. if anyone still hasnt tried the overclocking app, then i highly recommend it! i delayed untill now bc i read how people could only do it while pluged into pc and they were getting sod. but no more! install the oct 1.5 version and run at the settings that others are recommending and it is awesome. no problems and u do notice it is just more responsive. i dont think it runs battery lower either. it actually underclocks the processor when u arent using it much. i would link to the site for it and list my settings, if someone asks, but i am mobile right now and that would be a pain.

@pjsnyc, do u have houndres of texts? that hasnt been reported by people since much older versions of htc messaging, but if u search, then i think there is a cab that will disable htc messaging. that should fix your prob. or if u do have houndreds of texts, then just try deleting some of them.

edit: and if anyone else hasnt been watching, opera mini just updated to 5.1

I really like the look of your ROM for the most part (8-31). But a few things bother me.

One is that the menus from the softkeys are huge! It makes it so I have to scroll up and down a lot. Is there a reason they are so big?

Two is the start menu icons. They also seem kinda big. And the icons look like they were scaled up.

Three is I get this white line right below the top taskbar.

Some improvements:

Personally I think these folder icons are the best looking ones I've seen. Especially set 2A.

And I really like this taskbar. Especially with the battery percent driver.

Lastly, it would be cool if you could use the larger Verizon dialer. It seems easier to hit the keypad buttons with it.

Anyways, those are just my thoughts, not demands or anything! I think if you added that stuff and fixed those issues you'll have one of the best looking ROMs here.

Nope - less than 100 txts easily (recently flashed this). I suppose it might have been a bad flash? I usually flash stock, flash new ROM, then clear storage.

FWIW - I've tried those HTC messaging disable cabs to no avail.

I have noticed that a couple times too. It's a registry setting, but I am not sure of the exact key and or keys off the top of my head.

Menus can be made smaller with advanced config app, I leave them stock. Menu icons are stock, because so many people have different tastes in icons. The white line can be removed if you want. I try to leave the ROM as stock as possible so that way you can do what you want to with the ROM, and still be visually usable for both the average user and business user.

I had a little time tonight to sit down and play in the kitchen. Got a new SYS base edited and ready. Hopefully will have a little time to put it through the alpha tests tomorrow. Got a few updated apps thrown in there too actually.

Hey dibbson, whatz up. Could you please tell me how to add tabs to manila. Is there a cab i can install to add more tabs or do i have to edit the manila files. Im not a chef as you can tell!

Pretty sure there are CABs for pretty much every extra tab, either here on PPCG or on XDA. The only thing you have to watch out for is the 26948339_manila file. That file stores the tab information. If manila won't boot, or your extra tabs are not there after installing a tab CAB, then that is more than likely your issue. Just use notepad++ to edit the file to your needs (if you have to).

Be careful that the file gets saved back as unicode. A good text editor for this type of thing is notepad2.
