I had that problem (Device has malfunctioned, Unrecognized device etc.) until I used the oem USB cable supplied with my phone. Never had that problem before installing Win7. It shouldn't make a difference as they are electrically identical, so the other cable must be either bad or not supply enough current to the phone via USB. Other than that, if it just doesn't recognize it you could try updating the driver while it is connected. Make sure to have it check online for updates, it should pick it right up if that's the only issue.

The "Sense" manila 2.5 is the new fandangled gift from the cellular gods....well to us VGA guys anyways. BUT many of the manila files are set up different and named different from mania 2.1, so many 2.1 mods will not work. Just as many of the 2.0 mods wouldn't work on 2.1, only 2.5 is a whole new beast, 2.0 and 2.1 were very similar. All the great modders are workin to get new 2.5 mods out Rootlinux has already posted a few in his thread. He is the chit, check him out.

im using the lastest build, the Photon rom. i flashed it yesterday, rom version from 11-14-2009

fyi this didnt work, it actually did the opposite and removed all the soft keys on the home screen

Yeah thats the issue bro. Your on the new manila2.5 so most old manila 2.0 or 2.1 mods are a no go. Attached to the thread is a cab for the maxx cab for manila 2.5 it gives ou some options for customization, no pano walls yet though. Search this thread, it was the talk of the talk a week ago. There were screenies and all bein posted.. It's your best option as of right now.

eh its no big deal all you have to do is delete the file and it will auto load next time the system needs it.
