I can't really see why hard resetting first would do anything. But like you said I do see a few reasons to flash back to stock, but that's only if your phone is really messing up.

But hey...if you don't mind waiting (cause its really only a 2-3mins) then go for it. I'm usually to anxious to get to the next ROM lol.
I don't know where I picked up the advice to hard reset before a flash...I honestly just do it as part of my routine. Apparently, I'm reading a lot more about folks having issues flashing around the 6.5 ROMs - more people seeing lock ups and such, so these precautions seem worth the extra few minutes on the front end.

whooooo....flashy!

I might try the hard reset before flashing myself, I started flashing stock before changing ROMS because I kept having lockup/no-boot issues after flashing. I originally flashed back to stock because I thought something was wrong with my phone, I went through 3 ROMS a couple weeks ago that wouldnt go 12 hours before freezing, followed by me staring at the Touch Pro boot screen. The only way I could fix it was to flash back to stock, for some reason there is some magic in there that puts the planets back in alignment.

Hmm I wonder what causes bad flashes. I have yet to have one...and I probably flash 6 times a week on average.

There are alot of questions I have....like why Need for Speed Underground doesn't work on every ROM...

I basically have been using the 2 main "WM 6.5 other ROMS" since I got my phone and have never been 100% happy with them, so I decided to try Energy.

I just want to say that I am really happy with the features, performance, and general functionality of this ROM, I am really impressed at how stable it is for a WM6.5 ROM, I have not had any major issues with it, and I congratulate the master chef that cooked it up for all of us.

Of course, I will post here if I find anything wrong with it, but after 3 days I am a happy camper

So, when you hard reset, do you use clear storage or actually, press the 3 buttons.. ? Does it matter?
