Thank you again, I am not sure why it worked but it did. These were my steps:

I ran the sspl manual exe on my computer. that open a comand prompt and shortely after there was an windows error which forced it to close. there was no nbh on my desktop. So i ran the RUU again thinking that would place an nbh on my desktop. Magically, the ruu worked this time (after >40 tries). I did all of this from a fresh download of the software.

I dont know why but it worked..yes

and i just flashed merdins rom. It is the nicest rom i have ever used, i highly recommend it.

Glad you got it figured out. For future reference though. the SSPL manual exe is to put your phone into bootloader and you run it on your phone, not the computer.

just wondering if i did this right. i am in bootloader mode now and it says

Did I unlock my phone?
I have the alltel touch pro. I hope i did this right.

ok sweet. yeah i read up to like 14 pages on this thread till i finally decided and was sure i wouldnt lose my data. your awesome!!!!

Hmm... trying to relock so I can take it in to the Alltel store, and when I run Raphael_CDMA_Relocker.exe, it tells me right off the bat that "AthenaWrapper has stopped working," and I can either close it or check online for a solution.

Running Vista 64, Alltel TP, currently on the stock ROM. Tried rebooting both devices, not sure where to go from here.

Edit - just downloaded the relocker again for third time and tried, this time it ran just fine. Don't know what that's about but checked in bootloader and I'm locked.

this might have been asked, but i couldn't find it.

i have the Verizon touch pro. everything on here says it should be a Herman. but when i go into boot loader (and unlocked thanks to this post) it still says "raph" a few times.

When i am looking for a kitchen/ROM, do i use a raphael build, or herman?

For kitchens use Herman.
