Since OMJ clarified that apps ARE uninstallable from ROM1 I can't see a reason to flash ROM 2. I did post that earlier but since he clarified I edited my post.

I see there is 2 versions of 1.7 one with the new ota and the other one.so my question is the one that doesn't say new ota without that update? Cause every custom ron with the new ota gives me screen issues

ok so here is the deal

when you put that file to the root of your SD card and boot into recovery, it will scan it and ask you to update....click NO

then you go to do the back up, then wipe....you can't just go and 'flash" the file...you will have to power off your phone

then go back into recovery and it will scan that file again and this time, click the YES to update

Cant you though?
While it can never hurt to wipe, the PC36IMG file replaces EVERYTHING, it's like the flashing via a RUU just a different format.
As per whitslack and OMJ:
Quote:
It updates hboot, boot, recovery, system, userdata, microprocessor, radio, and WiMAX
So if everything is getting replaced including userdata I'd think a wipe is not necessary.
Happy to be corrected.

oh that makes sense. I usually do the wipe and then flash the file for a ROM....I didn't realize this thing replaces everything so a wipe beforehand is not necessary like when I first updated to the 1.5 rom

That's correct for ROM 1 users.

Some others (me included) already got the update from whitslack over at XDA so we used ROM 2 which is in the typical zip format.
For that I wiped.

Re: OMJ's HTC EVO 2.1 Custom ROM v1.6 | Eclair | *Updated | 6/30/10*

Sigh. I updated to this ROM using ROM 1. On the plus side, 4G works. On the down, now, I keep getting this message that pops up: "Sorry! The process android.process.acore has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force clese" And you hit force close, and it comes up in five seconds. I factory reset, and everything was fine. But after I restore everything using titanium, I get this error, my weather on the flipclock/weather widget is wrong (weird), and my phone doesn't let me access the menu to choose to mount as drive when I plug it in to the computer... So lost..

Edit: I factory reset, and all of these problems are gone for sure. Anyone have any idea what I should do so that I can use titanium but not have all these damn issues come with it?
