Thanks Pete. Just thought I'd mention that I emailed Sprint Customer Service and told them that's it been less than a year since I bought the Diamond (pretty close though), but that I was having awful standby battery life. They said that batteries are covered under warranty for one year. They said I could go to a store or order online and simply send them a scan of the receipt and they'd credit me the purchase price. I ran to the Sprint store just now and the guy gave me a battery from a returned Diamond for free. He assured me it's working fine.

Either way, I might take Sprint up on the offer, though it looks like I have to order online since they were out at the store. I didn't see any Diamonds on sale either. Must be clearing out stock in advance of the Diamond2, or Hero, etc. Who knows, maybe I'll have a new phone in the next month or so (Sprint has me set up as a "Sprint Premier Customer" and so I'm eligible for an upgrade each year).

working good for the most part, however my opera keeps on crashing whenever I visit Joystiq and it just stalls there. It's impossible to close the program and I just have to go into a soft reset. Anyone else getting this issue?

I just want to pop in and say that this ROM is incredible. I've literally used every single ROM on this site, built my own ROMs since the Apache was king of the hill, and even went back to the stock ROMs. Yet, I was never 100% happy. I'm now 100% Energy "efficient"

Excellent work, and I really look forward to what you'll do when 6.5 "officially" is released!

Oh, and Zoglog. I just tried it, and Joystiq loaded, post-haste, on my Diamond. Actually, it loaded faster on my phone than it did on my Acer AspireOne netbook. :/ And that was while I had the WiFi Sharing program running. I think you need to send your phone to time-out and let it know that its been a very bad phone and needs to listen to you better.

Update:

Riley and i have been in close contact (read: pestering) with NRGZ28, and he still does not know exactly when an update will grace the diamond yet. Trust me, no one is as excited as me for an update, but we must be patien. Must i quote my post about the rom making process for NRG?

Let us know if you feel the same way after trying the Bluetooth with your car. The super fast battery suckage I can handle but crappy BT is a deal breaker...sorry.

Here's what's on the menu today...

This is an HTC Diamond CDMA ROM, based on Windows Mobile 6.5. The current build number and date can be seen in the title of this thread.

I always build my ROMs with three main goals.

  • Eye candy.
  • Speed!!
  • Smoothness, consistency and good esthetics.
I preconfigure a lot of things in my ROM, because when I flash it on my phone, I want it ready to go, how I'd want it. So, expect the backlight to be set at the maximum brightness, the ringtone, sms/email and other notifications to already be set.

You will find a new ROM posted here every few days, as I always update them with the latest "ingredients" that come down the pipe, from either Microsoft or HTC. Because of that, I recommend learning to backup your settings with either Sashimi or UC (User Customization).

I usually make 3 versions of this ROM. If you don't see one in the download directory, it either means I haven't uploaded it OR I'm not making one for the current release yet.

Here are the different versions and what they mean.

  • "Standard" includes the new TF3D2 (Rhodium Manila) along with the standard Windows Mobile 6.5 today plugin (Titanium*) and the Tachi dialer
  • "Titanium" only includes the Titanium today plugin. No Manila in this version. This also includes the regular HTC dialer
  • "OldManila" includes the older TF3D Manila (as seen on a stock ROM), plus Titanium. This also includes the regular HTC dialer
* "Titanium" is the default today homescreen interface that is built into Windows Mobile 6.5.

You can "follow me" on Twitter
for the latest updates!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

This ROM is a generic CDMA build and "data" is already preconfigured. It has been reported to work fine on Sprint, VZW, Altel and I believe even Cricket devices.

Re: |VICT|ROM|6.5|WWE| ** EnergyROM 'Warhawk' (23016) ** || Built Aug 11 || w Manila

There no scientific evidence to back this up but here's a fact,

PPC + Usage + Windows Mobile + Interesting Roms with lots of fun things to do = Crappy battery life. Not one rom has proven this to not be the case, well at least from my perspective having tried almost every rom on here. The battery life or lack there of can be hidden by polling the battery once an hour(exaggeration ) or at least help with battery draw less when idle but since these devices were made to be used, battery life will be what it is. The fact of the matter is many of us probably use the phone and all of it's features more hence faster battery draw. Usage to me means real usage like several calls, or extensive data and email usage. And if you don't use the phone that much, sure battery life is quite good.

As or car/Btooth issues Neo, I'm sure NRG is aware of it and since it appears to be something that would need to be fixed via cooking, we can just hope he has the solution. But I did post before that this is not uncommon problem. I have seen the exact same issue in other threads before. I did a search of the upgrade threads and saw a bunch of posts about it. You might have luck going through these posts: http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/search.php?searchid=7425128 There also may be others.

Is there a way I can uninstall the apps that comes with this ROM? I have no space left after installing EZinput, which I installed on the Internal storage and not on the device memory, and another app. Talking about the internal storage, I have also noticed that anytime I install an app and direct it to be installed on the internal storage, it installs on the device anyway, thus taking away memory space. Anyway of fixing this too? Thanks!
