Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
All lithium batteries are rated and capable of charging at 1c.
With the battery being 1340mAH it's not even close to damaging it. I charge my RC batteries at 1c with no ill effects.

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
My RC planes uselithium polymer batteries.
1c is equal to the capacity of the battery. So a 2000mAH battery can be charged at 2amps safely. Polymer and ion are the same in chemistry and charging. So yeah I was saying a 900mAH charge into a 1340mah battery is safe. Last edited by fr4nk1yn; 12-23-2008 at 07:48 PM. Reason: STUPID text prediction |

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
I'm confused and think some terms might be mixed up... but Juggalo is right, and so is fr4nk1yn.
What I think fr4nk1yn was trying to say, is that lithium ion batteries can accept a charging rate in mA up to their capacity in mAh. SO: The 1340mAh batteries can accept a charge up to a 1340mA output from the charger. This however is not advised, as this much power into a tiny battery causes major heat issues, and I believe the Diamond even has a high temp shutoff. Ideally you want a charge between half of the mAh (seems a bit slow) and all of it (too much heat) so for us, that's 1 Amp. 500mA = Slow 1000mA = Nice |

I mean seriously if it was ok then the manufacture would of implimented this in their roms in the first place as being able to brag about the fast charge times would be a selling point. But given the reduced batt life and the warrenty on the batts they would be spending a **** load of money replacing batts under warrenty because of their reduced life in charging them this way.

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
Based on my understanding from my Energy Conversion class in college, both Juggalo_X and fr4nk1yn are correct.
@dcperdue: Just because the OEMs and manufacturers don't implement any type of tweaks to improve performance doesn't mean it's damaging to the product. If that was the case, then simple registry tweaks to increase the cache size would be damaging by your logic since they didn't implement that tweak. It was probably a poor business decision from someone that didn't have a complete understanding of the technical stuff or they just got lazy...keep in mind this is HTC.

But obviously that is not the case and that is why this forum is here, I suppose. |

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
well when i charge off the usb i get about 2 more hours charge then when i charge it off the ac adapter. And on my old 6800 my first battery I alwayes charged off the ac adapter and withen 6 month it would not hold a charge. The replacement batt I charged off the usb port on my pc alwayes and it still works on the phone which I gave to my employee and its going on a year and a half now.
But if I am proven to be wrong then so be it but from alwayes using rechargable batts for years I have found that the faster you charge them the faster they die. |

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
DCP... what you're talking about is the effect that things like car chargers and whatnot have on a standard battery that wasn't intended to be charged from anything other than a wall charger.
This isn't the same ball of wax buddy. |

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll
im starting to realize how horrible the charging is on the diamond.
its literally taken about 3 hours to charge from 30% to 90% my vogue wouldve been charged within an hour at most. without going to mightyrom, do i have any more options?? charge current from the wall is between 250-300, seems kinda piss poor to me. |
