If you haven't done this type of thing before, it can seem intimidating. It took me a while to figure out how to sign dll's, but after I did it turned out to be very useful. You can use that knowledge to easily sign any dll from a kitchen, OEM or dumped ROM and cab it up.

You can get the tools and instructions to sign a dll here - LINK

Once you sign the dll, you have to put it in a cab file. I use Wince cab manager, but its not free. There are other tools to do it that are free, but I am not experienced with them. I put the code from the certificate I used in the Provisioning Pre-XML section in WinCE cab manager. Add my dll and registry settings (pulled from no2chem's kitchen) and cab it up.

If anyone wants to ask no2chem's permission, I would be happy to post the cabbed version here.

EDIT: I sent no2chem a message on his website with the cabbed version I put together. I don't know if he will post it or not.

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll

EDIT: File removed. I am 99% sure that my interpretation of what he wrote on his site about distribution and giving credit falls in line with his guidelines. That combined with my workings with him in the past lead me to believe that this is not an issue. However, there is the 1% chance he would mind, so I took the file down.

I don't plan on reposting it regardless if he gives permission or not. I previously emailed him the filee so he can post it on his site if he wants. I am just tired of putting my time and effort into helping others and getting criticism. It's just not worth the hassle sometimes.

If anyone wants a copy, talk to no2chem via his website. Due to his email issues and his current workload, it might be a few weeks before he can get back with you.

I do appreciate the positive PMs I got. Thank you for those.

Compusmurf showed me some text from the nuerom website regarding distribution of the battery driver.

Quote:
1. Use of fastcharge in your ROM.
Yes, go ahead and use it, just be nice enough to mention where you got it from so other people can benefit from it. I’ve had requests for a cab version as well, I’ll take a look. Someone also mentioned that it doesn’t do 1% increments but it should if you have the right control panel.
Since he doesn't mind people distributing the driver in their ROM, I don't see an issue providing it in a cab form. That in addition to the help I gave him cabbing the nueLED and other Titan tools, I don't think he will mind, so here it is.

I will happily remove this if he asks me to.

This is the fast charge driver and the nuePowerCPL 1.5.2 from his website. The 1% doesn't work for me with the fast charge driver. It does work with the regular battery drive he provides. He mentioned it should based on his wording above, but it doesn't. I added all the same reg entries his OEMs and ROMs did, so I don't see any issues with my implementation.

As always, I take no responsibility for any issues this may cause so please take whatever precautions you feel necessary (i.e. backing up data).

I use this on my Touch Pro, but it should work fine on the Diamond.

Instructions:

Download
Unzip
Copy Cab to your phone
Run Cab
Reboot

Make sure you use the new power control panel applet to watch how much juice your phone is pulling from the USB. Also keep in mind this could damage your USB port on the computer if it doesn't like giving that much power. He has warnings on his website if you want to read more.

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll

Looks like it works. My phone went from 461mA charge to 830mA now via USB.

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll

Agreed

And even though he says it's ok, I'd still just send him a message if you plan on using it in a ROM you're distributing, it's just the nice thing to do.

Also, please don't be like some of the others and try to take credit for no2chem's work! Make sure you give him credit!

Re: no2chem "Fast Charge" Battery.dll

Honestly, I'm a little appalled that this has been put out freely without no2's specific permission. Sure, he said it was OK to use, but I don't see anything that says it's free to distribute. I have no idea what no2's intentions or feelings are in this regard, however, these files have long only been available for donators (I would bet no2 has a reason for that). no2chem is one of the single most important developers on this site, and I personally feel that you should get specific permission before distributing his donator CP files.

Maybe no2 doesn't care, but give hime proper respect and make sure he's cool with this distribution.

I agree...no2 said it was okay to cook but didn't say anything about distributing. Better to check with him than risk the potential consequences.
