It doesn't happen very often... but if you don't know when it's going to happen, you kind of have to plan for it all the time, so it does suck.

cooked and flashed a rom from 3.8 kitchen last night after going back to stock but im having "stability" issues again.

my phone isnt quite as crippled as before, but its very similar.

Try going back to 3.6. It's real solid.

Was going to post v3.9 now but boggsie sent me this. It's running really nice, especially after all that I did to the kitchen this time, I think I'll release v4 with this. Thanks again boggsie

Isn't this a fake release? Juicy told me about this and on xda, they reported that it was hex edited?? fake release?

It's entirely possible ... there are a couple of threads where it appears that a release may have been hex-d more than one time, to make it more difficult to determine the true build number.

There was a bit of time back in September when one of the long-standing chef's over at XDA were running or at least advertising 5.2.22222 ... which was obviously fake. I am not going to say who, because I can't remember and don't want to throw a name out there that is wrong.

Hexing these DSM modules isn't difficult, but it is tedious ... you think there is an unpublished tool out there _or_ are people actually hexing all of these sys and xip modules by hand, just for kicks and to throw people off the beaten track?

Oh, and sorry to thread-jack ... just an interesting topic ... and I have no way of knowing if 21109 is legitimate or not ... point being: how can one really tell anymore, unless you are in the loop and receiving directly from the HTC, Sony or Microsoft leak?

I'd like to give the 3.9 kitchen a shot, while the powers that be figure out if 21109 is a haxored release.

When you create the base rom, do you use ervius' kitchen (BuildOS+Package_Tools)? If so, could you (please) use the "Save Pre-Configured ROM Option" to generate a BaseROM.erv file and publish that? It would provide a starting point on which to add extra elements.

thanks man, i've got a 3.6 ROM cooked up and ready to flash.

i hard reset @ the barbershop after i started having problems and seem to be alright for now. i've got a friend @ the local sprint store who offered to swap it out for a new one so i couldn't turn down the offer.

i'll mess around w/it and see if it happens again before i take it in next week.
