Nope...this guy's points are weak. Like you said, why would anyone leave sprint and go to another carrier with the SAME data cap and pay more money for slower data service (in most cases)? And last time I checked, the Curve, Pearl, Mogul, and Touch are all among the best PDA/Smart Phones...and all are available from Sprint. This isn't even considering the upcoming Diamond, Raphael, and 800WX. A lot of people don't care about the Iphone either. The majority of people in these forums would rather have a device they can customize and get it to do pretty much whatever they want it to do. Yes it has a nice interface, but that doesn't make up for it's limitations.

Actually im not saying people are going to swtich another carrier for there phone service just the internet service. that 5GB cap on some people that use it for business will hurt them and most likely find another form of having internet. I really can't say 100% what the out come will be, Plus Sprint is one of the worst cell phone carriers, in the top major 4 providers rating at 53 vs Verizion, AT&T. sprint lost 1.02 million people arleady this year and most of those people were loyal consumers, how many more will sprint lose cuz of this and not only that they lost Qwest.

SERO is the sprint employee referal program, you can use a employees email as a reference and get special pricing, not sure how it affects SERO data plans

Not only that they lost about 1.02 million customers the first Q. Not saying those fiqures are what is but im just saying they will lose alot because of this. Maybe more maybe less but even so they will lose alot. Sprint seems to be dwindling down and look at all the other carriars they seem to be doing better then sprint. lol
Sprint has about 52/53 million customers true, but they are not ALL aircard subscribers. The 5% is only said to affect the 5% of the aircard users, which is ALOT smaller number than your calculation. I get what yer saying but both at&t and verizon have capped data, but why would customers cancel sprint, to just sign up for the same (possibly slower) deal elsewhere? So yes, people are going to be ticked off, but its not gonna put sprint under. In my opinion of course

The company will check customers' broadband usage once every three months, and "customers would have to exceed the limit in two out of three consecutive months to face termination,"
Interesting, so I could download 20 gigs one month and then just stay under 5 gigs the next two months, then rinse and repeat.

Also I guess their not gonna charge you if you go over too much, just terminate your contract?

I am not sure this is true. I just added a Touch on Verizon and ran a couple of speed tests along with my Sony Vaio with the built in EVDO Rev A card from Sprint.

I discovered that my Sprint card was hitting around 1.2 mps while the VZW phone tethered to my laptop was reaching 2.3-2.5 mps. That is a huge difference.

Now here is the problem.... I like Sprint's data service, but like the data speeds I am getting with VZW, and their coverage is better. But with the cap, VZW will hit first if I am using Slingbox and Sirius a lot.

So I guess I am going to remain with Sprint and the slower data speeds because it is fast enough for everything I do and hope I don't pop over the edge.
