Re: Sprint changing TOS 9/09/11
I just got off the phone with Sprint, I did drop my insurance on the EVO, the 8 dollars a month just did not sit right with me considering they did not tell me or notify me and thanks for the heads up with that. I did ask him about the admin change and the ToS and he said nope that it would not let me Cancel my contract without a ETF. Right after that he was all ready to go ahead and cancel my service right then and there like they were ready to just dump me as a customer. It gets so frustrating every time you have to talk with them.
I still have one line under contract and the other is not. with the Deal T-mobile has out right now that's making it very tempting to jump ship. with there 49.99 per line I could save over 50.00 bucks a month. Not worried about unlimited data. I think between both phone's we have combined we do not use more than 1GB a month. Just leaves me to think why I am staying with them...... Edit This made me curious so I went and looked at past statement's It looks like they dropped what I was paying on Admin fee's this last year, it looks like in 09 & 10 I was paying 2.97 and this year I have only been paying 1.98. Seems odd but if I can use it to get out of the contract that's OK with me. Last edited by Wesley762; 09-04-2011 at 08:23 PM. |

Re: Sprint changing TOS 9/09/11
So I called Sprint to opt out of my contract and they gave me some bs about when I signed my contract agreement with them they reserved the right to increase admin fees UP TO $1.99 without waving ETF fees... Anyone else heard of this? She said since it just went from $.99 to $1.50 an EFT will still apply, if it had gone over $1.99 then I could have opted out????? How should I combat this?

How is it that there are two policies in place that completely contridict each other!? The Legal Terms state any material change voids contract BUT under Taxes and Fees terms they say admin fee can change??... Well after 30min or so of arguing my case the guy clearly stated he saw my point BUT refused to budge and when I asked to go on up higher he said he was it, high as I could go! So I asked for Corporate HQ contact and he would not give me a # but said he'd set up for someone to contact me Monday 10min later the guy calls back and sais he'll let me out of contract but I MUST terminate my acct with Sprint. Again I pointed him to the Legal Terms Policy which states I have two options (a) go month to month or (b) terminate. He cut me off and said he couldn't help me and hung up... I'm pretty bummed I can't see how I lost this battle when I believe I won the argument BUT this loophole ^ is pizz poor IMO. Is there another avenue? If I do get a call from corporate how do I handle that? Keep the same angle?? |

Re: Sprint changing TOS 9/09/11
I'm on the phone with retentions now - over a problem that I've had with three refurbed TP2's in 6 days - and they are telling me that the new admin fees do not constitute a change that will allow me to cancel my contract. The supervisor that I am speaking with is telling me that my $280.00 in ETF for my 4 phones will still apply. I'm on hold now while she is "researching" it.
David Edit: they are telling me that in my original contract it states that as long as the admin fees do not increase above $1.99, I can not cancel. LOL... does that mean that 18 months ago they knew they would be going up to 1.50? Edit 2: Just spoke with another account services supervisor and was told flat out that if I did cancel, the change in the contract does not represent a significant enough change to allow waiver of the ETF. In addition, I asked if they would allow me to change to an EPRP and was again told flat out that it could not be done because I am a current customer (15 years). Even canceling my plan would result in having to pay the ETF and still not be able to get on EPRP.

Re: Sprint changing TOS 9/09/11
Don't forget that sprint's various levels of reps are not the be all, end all. The last 2 times I hit that unmovable wall I managed to break past it by seeking the help of the Better Business Bureau, as well as my local Attorney General's office.
1st issue was in response to a change made to my service plan in error by an unknowing tech, which they insisted couldn't be added back in... (unlimited free texting from an older plan) and the 2nd was about a credit they refused to honor. Very useful tools. The 2nd time the threat was sufficient to further elevate my issue past the "this is as far as you're going to get" up the latter, prollem. Good luck!
