Re: Simple Guide, 6 Easy Steps (15 min): ANDROID TP2 DL links, 3/25 FRX06, GingerBre

I am also using 1253 kernal and I still have a lot to learn as well. The applications I downloaded from the net, I could make it to run ( I put the .apk file in the same folder in the andboot/ Application folder along with utube and all ) But did not work. Is this also a pending issue ? And my download in the market place is taking forever is there a bug in the Marketplace as well.
Thanks for DEV team for all your hard work

What do you mean by "I could make it to run, but did not work" ?
To answer your question, in 1253, all apps works, even if you just put the apk in the application folder or install the apps from the market. Are you using the FRX06? And for the kernel, make sure you replace BOTH the module and the zImage.

If all checked, try delete data.img, by deleting that you will lose or your settings, mail, sms, etc. Basically recompile the android again.

AND I'm assuming you use GSM on CDMA TP2

I know this must have been asked a ton, but is there any way to turn off the orange notification light? Doesn't leaving it on just drain the battery?

1. The drain is negligible - as in NIL. It's an LED, the drain is minimal.

2. Orange = full wake, green = sleep - until the devs fix all the blockers preventing the device from sleeping, this is how the notification LED will be handled. There's some other kernels floating around that change this paradigm, but nonetheless they all indicate sleep/wake state.

Honestly, I'd rather know my phone is sleeping correctly. With things like GPS preventing the phone from sleeping, it can really drain your battery quick if everything isn't shutdown properly.

Does charging your phone leave a orange LED or green?

Orange. Phone can't sleep when it's charging, there's a wakelock present preventing it from sleeping.

Although I believe the phone does sleep when it hits 100% and stops charging...

You should already have a rootfs.img file in your folder where you run haret.exe from.

If you have haret (and the rest of the files) in any folder, you need to specify that in the startup.txt using the cmdline statement:
Code:
rel_path=Path\To\Haret
Obviously fill in the correct path. If it's in a folder off the root (base) of the SD card, then rel_path should be simply 'andboot'.

anyone having trouble with ringer?, I can't get the phone to ring, calls come in but only have " silent" as choice for ringer, also can't get the dual boot to work, if I move the files to root to be seen by DualBoot, get message missing rootfs.img, tried adding the rel_path=andboot but doesn't work, have a Rhod400, thanks for any help
