Although i wont recommend to do this thing again and again, i experimented on this build and its not giving me any problems at all plus the extra features in start menu. So i kept it. And it wasn't my idea actually, someone at XDA posted it working so i tried it. For this particular build, i am using it for last 20 days and my device is a 64 MB RAM one, so i keep a strict eye on memory usage, and believe me, i have seen no memory leaks or anything like that whatsoever.

so in this case it's really only for those start menu benefits?

Hmmm....very interesting. Wonder what it is? Unfortunately I cannot reproduce the issue here to help, But, if you would like to find out, I can make a few suggestions for you.

Extract the 23031 common rar to folder with the same name in the kitchen dir. Edit your buildbase to say"ModuleDir=[KitchenPath]SYS_23031_Common" without the [archive] at the end. Now, you can start swapping out base folders from 23030 to see which one is where the hangup is coming from.

I would start with the baseapps, browsing, browsingcore, shell, os and redist one at a time since those are the main os files. Also try metadata, though I doubt that's the issue since most of that is unused in the build process.

I still have yet to see any other QVGA users reporting a problem yet (SYS_23031_Common has been downloaded 38 times, and SYS_23031_96DPI_0409 37 times so far), so it's possible it may just be something with the Apache (like OEMDrivers) since no one else here has reported a yay or nay on the Apache other than you

Also, you can post a build log of a non-booter at http://pastebin.com and post the link here for all to review to see if anything smells funny.

Edit: Mattsm confirmed the 23031 working fine for his QVGA. (thanks mattsm)

I have had no problem with the 23031 on the titan. I have been playing with the 23403 though.
So I don't believe it is in the common files.

Edit: Maybe a bad download. Just a thought.

True, I don't know what ppckitchen does if it encounteres a corrupted rar, it may just not say anything (i just tried, it didn't. I just got yelled at about 1 missing dsm) so it could be cooking without a sys common at all. Extracting the rar to a folder or posting the log should calrify that. Good thought.

I can say this, I had one of my earlier builds do this exact same thing. It was in my builds base txt.
It had a space after one of the lines before it returned to next line. It would build fine with no errors at all, but do just what his is doing.

I think I'll just have to satisfy with the 23030 build guys, since the new builds almost come everyweek, hahaha.. but i really appreciate your reply and suggestion. Thanks a lot.

hmmmm....23031 just timebombed on me even though it's patched. "02EB7D3E" is not in shell32.exe but it puked anyhow. Anyone else just reboot and get that?

Rocking 23031 now. I noticed I caint finger scroll in the new bigger setting screens anymore likt you could with previous builds. Like the Sounds and Notification I cant finger scroll down to the other settings (although you can finger scroll in the drop down box). I have to resort to using the scroll bar. Hope I am making sense. Maybe there is a reg setting for this?

Soft-reset several times, even set time forward a year and no timebomb.

As far as the scroll issues, when did they start?
