Re: Piracy, warez and You.
There are those of us who pay more than $25 for applications - it depends on what one needs and is willing to pay.

Re: Piracy, warez and You.
for sure, but is there enough to support the platform? Enough to win with the AppStore?
Some of you guys may remember, the good days of Amiga computer. It was a great platform (best at the time) yet it died for a similar reason. People forget that WinMo has only a tiny share in the mobile device market. I did not do any research on that, kick me if I am wrong, but it seems to me that 4 years ago the number of new applications for WinMo was a whole way higher. |

Re: Piracy, warez and You.
Could be that you can only make so many games, so many fart applications, so many whatevers. Whatever it may be, I find the WinMo world to be more suited for my purposes than any other platform.

Re: Piracy, warez and You.
I don't have a problem paying for software but when you are charging $20+ dollars for a program that runs on your phone I think that is ridiculous. A lot of the most successful aps on the ap store for iphone are only a few dollars or even a buck. Not saying it doesn't cost money to develop a program or something isn't worth $20+ dollars but come on. I think someone is way more likely to pirate something when the developer is charging a lot. I think there is a great need for a mobile marketplace for windows. If I had quick access to tons of aps on my phone with most programs under $5 bucks. I would have no problem buying a few every month and wouldn't think twice. I just don't see why developers feel the need to charge so much for programs. Sell in quantity. It's like amazon selling DRM free music. I would rather just go there and pay a buck which is a fair price then try and mess around on limewire or whatever. I'm not gonna distribute it and so what if I burn it on a cd. I really hope they get the ap marketplace up and running and they put all this in one place. I hardly have any aps on my phone just cause it's pain in the *** to find programs I want, register and pay for them.

SWIM (someone who is not me) thinks Resco Explorer is an EXCELLENT file explorer, but it costs $30. SWIM knows this program has many features and uses it on a daily basis, but $30 is too much money for a phone app. SWIM would GLADLY pay $5 for the software and feel better because he's supporting the developers. In turn, many people would be willing to download the trial to see if they like it, and drop the $5 if they see it as a good tool for them. Even if you offer a trial with you software, if the price is too high, people probably won't even try it.
