Actually you are quite mistaken my friend. None of the Spb Software trials provide full access to the features until the correct formated serial in input in the registration. THey started that probably around a year ago. Most video games, specifically anything for PPC by Konami, are limited unitl unlocked. That go's for quite a few commercial software engineer firms are all similar.

That being said; isn't that why we all started hitting the books, the forums, the blogs, etc, in order to learn the code? Thats why we develop? That's what drives our constant, evolving, educational advancement within our little handheld community... we see what we can't afford (because we're all saving for the next best device to come out... at $600+) and we collaberate, and create... and give back to our fellow people... Thus forcing the tech development companies to keep up on their game, always ensuring they're giving us a good run for our money.

So far I don't think anyone who's posts i've read in this thread have not had a legitimate point one way or another. We're all guilty in one form or another... at one time or another... The issue comes down to us personally, and as a community, decisively making a choice to do the right thing. Not because we might get in trouble.... not out of guilt, but because it's the right thing to do. YES I UNDERSTAND HOW NORMAN ROCKWELL-ESQUE CHEESY THAT JUST SOUNDED. But think of it like this...

Ethics is truly defined as an individual choice which results in benefiting all parties involved, not just the person, and then trickle down from there. Somebody has to so why not us. If all the people of the world were to coincidentally make the choice to do the wrong thing at the same time, imagine the catclysmic atrocity which could occur. So long as at least 1 person is striving to make the right choice, the ethical choice, as much of his/her life as humanly possible, then there is hope for mankind as a species....

Damnit... my mother was right... I should have been a political consultant or an attorney... she'd kill me to know I missed taking my bar exams because my pocket PC, which was my alarm clock, had the windows mobile alarm bug in it... and it never went off...

Why thank you, but I'll settle for a functioning and consistant ROM, or else a handset that Verizon hadn't jacked up and taken all the memory out of...

I understand that companies want to make a profit and Piracy is really bad but I have a hard time grasping the fact that developers and companies are charging out the wazoo for an application.

It's hard to explain but sometimes $9.95 (Yes, I know it's only $9.95 but some people can't even pay that much) is a bit steep for some people. I mean I already paid what 200 - 300 dollars for my phone? Now I've got to cough up more money?

Bottom line is there are a lot of people that want the apps but don't feel like dealing with the prices. Therefore they pirate it (which I am in no way condoning).

Yes, Iphone apps are cheap compare to WM apps. I have an Omnia I900 and an Iphone 3G. Same functional apps much cheaper on Itunes. Much easy to update on Itunes, too. I don't have to search for updates when on Iphone. On Omnia, I do a lot of searching for updates. Too much time consumed.

I think this discussion is very important as i see warez websites becoming more popular. I see now independent developers are slowly losing focus on making pocket pc games and applications.The more money developers lose, the less likely they will focus on pocket pc development.Lets just take games for instance , honestly developers can make games like mario,mega man, and casltevania for pocket pc.i know they can be done because i done some myself. do you notice that WVGA has little real good choices yet WVGA pocket pc has on average 400-580 proccessing power. The newer pocket pc can handle 3D games and graphic yet there not many avalible. Thats because alot of developers just stopped making games. At one time someone PM me and ask why dont i make full lenght games . I answered i make short game demos but i dont put all the time to make a long game because it wont pay off honestly. I made short games for wvga like mario quest,pong,and pac-man for free just so people have something to play with. I have a website full of free games i made or other developers made but thats it. If piracy continues like this , in the future they will be no full lenght games and apps. Just freeware developers make in thier free time. I hope everyone will chip in and give thier opinions on this.

I understand your point, but at the same time people might be willing to pay for these same games you said aren't available now. I've seen plenty of games for my various phones but 99% sucked. As has been mentioned a million times before, if the quality of games were like the Iphones people would gladly spend their money. No offense to anyone, but the freeware games I have are more enjoyable than all but four of my paid games.

Anyway, I don't know if it is or not but usually things work out and there isn't much need to develop many new apps because a lot of them have been thought of.
