I guess I mean which zip file on his site. I tried the "Latest" one first and no dice. Then I looked at the age of everything in the zip and realized it was probably the oldest. The one that says Very Old works well enough and the one that says SDK 1.0 is ok but is pretty glitchy and seems to have the keys laid out differently too. SDK 1.0 seems to have the most functionality though even with all the glitchyness of the touch screen. I have been able to get on the data but I just make sure to have IE running before I run Haret. Someone mentioned it earlier in the post so I tried it without IE to no avail and then tried it with and voila. |

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan
have downloaded from massey and get same result as WtfBurdo . tried site from next posting. downloadded , unzipped and installed on 4gig card slotted in ran haret and yeh after a few moments had android up and running. following worked well, touch screen , wifi , phone , clock and alarm clock, picture search (which displays far better than in winders 6.1).could not connect to 3g service (with verizon), although letter keys worked well on slide-out keyboard , numbers didnot, makes logging in to mail a no-go. browser on wifi worked well, better that internet explorer. camera did not work, bluetooth did not work. applications requiring network connection ,except the browser, did not work. so all in all have to say heading in the right dirrection and close , very close. nice job ,folks!

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan
Verizon go their nose out of joint when I upgraded to wm6.1 from HTC's own site so you know they won't be impressed by anyone tinkering to get andiod up on the phones they sell without their getting a cut.

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan
I too loaded the files from http://magister.ipsys.net/projects/android-for-titan/ but I hang up at the startup process with Tux showing with a bunch of lines of info underneath.
Any suggestions? |

Re: Linux/Android working on Titan
ok now have texting up and running , but will to decrypt picture messages (which sucks) but otherwise seems stable. Have wifi working and am able to connect to net and not able to confirn at moment but looks like 3g connection is working also (I use Verizons "service") now have google maps working (but unfortunatly no gps) . If bluetooth , camera and gps worked I would use it as primary OS on this phone , but without those it makes it impractical for my line of work (I am atruck driver) If you don't need those features much of the time it's worth using much of the day (battery life is reduced however to about par for the old XV6700). Byself I duel boot, but then I do with all my computers.
