Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

upgraded to the new stock rom...

My phone was fully charged Tuesday at 6am, talked on the phone throughout the day for about 45 minutes or so. Have WeatherPanel running, updated 3-4 times throughout the day, did a few text messages throughout the day. Just some basic usage..

I am now at 90% battery life, 17 hours later, I recharge about every 2-3 days, with internet usage, etc. I let the battery drain until it is below 10% then recharge. I have a charger at work and at home so it is not a big hassle.

Beam set to off, bluetooth disabled, if I connect to the internet, I always disconnect the data after I am done and close any open applications.

The phone is also pretty new though, I have had it for 2.5 weeks.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

There must be a common factor between the poeple who are experiencing this.
Installed on my phone after the upgrade:
HTC Home
HTC customizer
TomTom w/Astrolauncher
NueLED 1.5b
VJCandela

Beam, Bluetooth and wireless off, like always.
Backlight is always max, but that's just how I like it and I won't go lower.
Before the upgrade I stayed in the 80-90 percent all day, even if playing with GPS when I drive.

I'm almost positive it's a reporting error. After charging all night, I unplug it and stare at the meter to see the first number it shows and its 95%.
Last week it was 100% for a little while after unplugging it. It's been an hour now ad it still shows 95%.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Well, I'm going to cook another rom this morning... I left my phone all night and it's power only drop 3 % over night....I couldn't soft reset either, I pressed the button and it didn't work.... weird, I had to pull the battery to reset it, when that was finished resetting the button worked again???? I did leave the GPS plugin in the ON state all night as well.... I do notice that when I actually try to use Googlemaps with GPS is drains way faster than it did before tho, if I try to lock on fora few mins it drains the battery around 2 percent a min...... crazy fast.... and I can't get a lock anymore..... Ive tried a few programs to get a lock and I just can't..... I've got a few more things I'm going to try before getting a new phone.....

For me, it HTC Home or the customizer.... both of which had newer versions so I upgraded both of them in my ROM.... So I'll go back to what I had pre-new radio.... and I'll post later when I know something more.....

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

uh.. same thing here. updated to dizzlev2.0 and new radio last evening. did use the quick gps and live maps , tom tom briefly to check (locked in super fast ) GPS. Had HTC Home Customizer installed and dabbled around. This morning my alarms did not go off - guess what - phone was totally turned off - not just radio. Finished charging an hour or so back .. its down to 91% already.. sucks.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I removed HTC Home and HTC Home Customizer because of sluggish performance and draining the battery. As for the sluggish performance (I soft reset then immediately checked and memory was about 57%, then I would wait about 2 hours and not do anything on the phone and checked it again and it would be above 70%), after removing these programs the problem went away and so did my battery draining problem. It's a shame because I loved the HTC Home. This was just my experience with the program.

I've heard the same from the XDA forums. The updated radio doesn't seem to play nice with HTC home, but I'm too attached to it so until I find something as cool I guess I'm stuck.
(Ultimate Launcher maybe?)

Also, is there an easy way to be sure the GPS is off? Like a one button method or something to make sure the port is closed without going through other programs or steps.
It would be cool if someone could patch this into the comm manager. Wow. Just thinking about it. Definately would be cool.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

It seems like the newer Home is the culprit for my battery issues, however, since my phone seems to have other hardware issues I have a new one arriving tomorrow from Verizon. I'll be able to do more testing when that one arrives...

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Everything has been fine for me on the new ROM.

Usually when I have battery problems I just let it charge and unplug it and plug it in a lot when it charges so it doesn't stop charging because the battery is "fully charged" already. Taking the battery out might help while doing it also.

It seems like an inaccurate representation to me.

I left about 10 AM today and now it is 8:42 and I'm at 90% still.
