Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
are your data connections active? try this:
HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\ delete or rename the SuspendResume to XXXX then Add new one as name SuspendResume and select the type to be String the value of this key set to GPRS_bye_if_device_off and look for the other key name CacheTime (if not found add new one with type of Dword) then set it to the number of second before disconnect like this CacheTime = 60 check for every thing right and then make a soft reset after if reboot go to turn on GPRS like check your mail and after the download mail complete and wait for 60 second it auto disconncet GPRS. I wonder it work I notice I has been make this before but it doesn't work so I decide to rename the key SuspendResume and make a new one and now I very happy with this registry hack on my Treo750 k101d. PS: finally HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\SuspendResume=G PRS_bye_if_device_off HKLM\Comm\ConnMgr\Planner\Settings\CacheTime=60

I dont think I saw anyone mention to remember to disable Beams. That can affect it quite a bit too. Screen brightness is a major factor also. If you run at full brightness you will see a real hit to battery life.

for those with battery issues are you using stock or custom roms? if custom are you using the gps launch app thats in the dcd kitchen? if so...it keeps the gps active thus draining your battery...please respond with what rom youre using or if you have that gps lauuncher app installed

To which application are you referring? The only GPS appl I have been able to identify is QuickGPS, which downloads the latest satellite data via an Internet connction. If I have missed another, please let me know as it would not be the first time I missed something.
BTW, the configuration options for QuickGPS are: - remind me when the data expires - autodownload when data expires - autodownload when connected to PC via ActiveSync The data is valid for 7 days, so updating the satellite data is unlikely to be a drain--unless of course, there is a bug in the program. BTW, I had this same setup when using DCD's previous ROM, and did not have the battery drain problem. As a side note, while others who have seen improvements with the official Sprint ROM, the GPS performance does not seem to lock in any quicker -- if it is, its not significantly faster. |

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
I haven't noticed any issues with the DCD's 3.0.1 kitchen and battery life. I have an XV6800 and a Mogul here. I got the XV about a month ago, and the Mogul came Thursday. The XV is still running a DCD kitchen based off the leaked roms, but I felt it exhibited great battery life (especially compared to my old 6700). The Mogul is running the 3.0.1 kitchen with the same OEMs installed as the XV. Just for kicks, realizing they are different batteries and hardware apart from different ROMs, I charged both phones and left them approx 12 hours with similar service indicated and no calls made or recieved. This resulted in a battery level of 92% on the Mogul and 89% on the XV. Definately a negligible difference, indicating both ROMs have similar battery life at least in standby. I should have run the test with the stock rom, but I was bored and felt like flashing everything on the Mogul the night I got it.
P.S. The Mogul, still has 65% of it's initial charge indicated as available. I have a feeling the battery needs to do some learning. That's 90 hours in standby (just sitting on my desk with good service) with only a 35% drain. I'm either not buying it or really impressed. |

Has you seen this article on excess battery consumption by some HTC chipsets? I bookmarked it after seeing it in another posting.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
Thats absolute rubbish and I am tired of people blaming GPS on this battery problem. If its GPS then why was I getting 48 hours out of my phone with the leaked ROM and with this ROM I get about 12 hours with exact same programs and generally same usage?
