Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Have you all tried implementing the registry battery hacks to see if that fixes the problem?

These numerous tweaks I posted over at Ppcgeeks and have found them to be almost essential for a great Moto Q experience.

You'll need the free PHM Registry Editor : Smartphone Edition to do this. This takes no more than 5 minutes.

*Remember to wait a couple of minutes before soft-reseting your device! Otherwise the changes won't take as they won't be saved to ROM.

Battery Life

A couple of us have tested this and found a nice increase in battery life. On my Treo 700 it seemed to do nothing but on the Q it greatly helped (I ran for 12 hours yesterday push email in a low signal environment and stayed at 4 bars battery--normally would have been at 2 or 3)

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Well, I made a ROM from DCD 3.0.1 using the exact same OEM packages that I had in 2.3.2.... Something is definitely wrong..... I could go almost 2 days on the 2.3.2 ROM while this new ROM on 3.0.1 just eat the battery fast. From 6:30 PM tonight until now, having the phone in standby, and yes I closed ALL apps, turned OFF HTC Home from the today screen, and the battery dropped 22% without using it at all.... Tomorrow I'm going to reflash the 3.27 radio and try my older ROM all day to see whats going on. I suspect the radio is keeping the GPS chipset "alive" by accessing it on a preset timer... kinda like keeping the pump primed, so when we want to use it we don't have to use a starter program like on the 3.27..... just a hunch, but will post back tomorrow sometime.....

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

forgot about the reg hacks. it's like you tweak your phone, then reflash, then you gotta remember to redo all the tweaks.
i just did it so i dunno how this will work yet.
also, i will also buy the notion that the battery is being mis-read by the phone, especially after this new rom flash.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I'm almost positive it has something to do with the phone reporting the battery life as incorrect. Is anyone using the 1% increment battery life indicator? I am and noticing this.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I'm not having any battery life issues...

Jeez, it seems like I'm the only person who flashed to 3.35 who has no problems with it whatsoever...

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

The way I "fixed" this is when I am not going to use my phone for a while (IE not using GPS or making calls) I go to comm manager and turn the radio off then back on.

I had the "battery out" problem as well for the first 2 nights, but turning the radio off then back on before turning the screen off made it so that it had battery in the morning.

Hope this helps.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I too am having battery problems but I chalked it up to Skyfire being the culprit. But now that I think about it it proli does have something to do with the gps (even if you don't ues it). My A-900 had horrible battery life until I turned of "my location". It's proli th same thing here. Someone who doesn't use gps should turn it off in the settings and see if it helps.
