Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
Hey all,
Sorry I haven't posted in a while but I thought I would let everyone know how my little test has been going (testing the stock rom). After installing the stock rom and installing all my usual programs I started my little test. The test was simple, to see how long I could go without a charge using my phone as I regularly would. Here is how it went: -I charged my phone all Sunday night and began using it on a monday at 7:00am. -I used my phone as I normally would, 10-20 phone calls a day, plus 5-10 internet usages throughout each day (all less than 5 min. long, most of the time it was just a min. or so to sync my calendar with scheduleworld) -I even used gps for 15 minutes or so on Wednesday. -On friday afternoon, at about 3:00 my phone finally died I repeat FRIDAY. I went from monday to friday on one charge. Battery life is WAY better with the stock rom than with dcd 3.0.2 or no2chem's 5060. I have been using the stock rom for a while now, and am very pleased with its responsiveness and battery life. Please note: -The week I tested the batt. life I mostly use my phone for what it is... A Phone. -When I did use the internet it was alway simple, less than 5min tasks, no music streaming or anything like that. Mostly googlemaps, email, cal syncing, check out the new movies... stuff like that. I have noticed that the stock rom will actually disconnect it self from the internet when it is not in use, like it is supposed to. The custom roms would not. To me, this points to the internet being one of the major draining factors in the new radio (much more so than it should). In the next couple of days I am going to try out DCD'S 3.0.4. I love the custom roms but I need my battery life more than I need all the customizations. |

I'm going to add my input on this as well.
running: dcd 3.0.1, radio 3.35.03 In the beginning, I had practically everything: htc home, htc customization, s2u2 programs, backlight on high. I also did use the internet to check email (every 2hrs for 10 minutes) using wifi and use pda programs (uptodate mostly). About 5 calls lasting 10-20minutes. 100% at 7am and about 20% around 5pm. I did a hard reset and actually now just have htc home and htc customization. Backlight is still on high. I still use the internet to check email (every 2hrs for 10 minutes) using wifi and use pda programs. About 5 calls lasting 10-20minutes. Now I get 100% at 7am and about 70% around 5pm. I use the GPS on the weekends and regardless of scenario it sucks the hell out of it. Also, I think I can get more out of the battery if I can disable activesync. I tried the registry tweaks on this site and others, but still it comes back on randomly. Not sure on how much it really affects battery life though. |

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
I had JD's 2.17 on the 6800 for a while, with awesome battery life, it could go a two days without a charge with some light usage...
After switching to VetVito's 6.1.1... I had huge battery drain problems, couldn't get through one day with the same usage as before. The ONLY thing I switched was under Phone -> Services -> Roaming, I had it as Sprint Only. I switched that to Automatic. My battery life has improved dramatically, almost back to levels that I had with 2.17. Not very scientific, but I'm MUCH happier now. Try it, and post some results. |

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
Zen313 - that is what the stock rom is set at (I have great battery live just like I did with 2.17). I will do the opposite of what your saying and set mine to "sprint only" and see what happens.
I'll keep you all (y'all perhaps? anyone from the south?) posted. |

Regardless, it was already in automatic.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.
FYI, I have been using a very useful program called Uptime Meter that has really been able to give me an accurate gauge on the battery life. You should try it out and see how much time you get out of your device. Here were my latest stats: (3 days uptime, with 5 hrs actual usage)
