Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I just bought the 3200 mAh battery and got it yesterday. It's a little thicker then I would like, but I'm sure I will get use to it.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Is the registry fix working on the new rom (3.35)? Tried it with the rename and change to 60 and a soft reset but the dataconnection is still up in idle mode.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

My battery life is great with 3.35. I do have the battery reg edit cab installed. I can charge it full, take it off the charger before going to bed, wake up and still be at 100%.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

Battery seems to be great if you have no data connections and aren't doing anything with the phone...
Now, if you start using data, or even just using apps the power usage skyrockets. :P It's noticeably worse than 3.16, but not bad enough that I feel like switching back.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

And yours switches to the Antenna symbol after 60 seconds? Just wanted to make sure I got the behavior right since I'm new to the board and to the phone.
I have the weather panel installed and it went from 100% last night to 85% this morning.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

To everyone who keeps posting how great their battery is: We get it.
This is the equivalent of replying to a the topic "help my screen is cracked" by saying "Mine is not cracked. In fact it's clear as crystal!"
Regardless of how great YOUR battery is, some of us experienced a major drop in battery life. Not a little. A lot. I unplug at 7:00am and by noon will be down to 80% with NO USE. Just sitting in my pocket like always.

The people who are having this problem need to figure out what we have in common because we all agree that the battery was strong before the upgrade.

ROM's have nothing to do with this new problem.
Programs have nothing to do with it. (I've tried flashing with bare minimal options.)
It's not the GPS. I've had GPS working BEFORE the radio upgrade with no serious drain. It does however crank the drain into overdrive now. 20 minutes of GPS use will kill the battery by over 20 percent.

That leaves the Radio.

I have a few options left. Try to reflash the radio over itself. Maybe something wasn't right with the original flash.
or
Roll back to the old radio.
or
Get a new battery because maybe maybe what if, the radio flash somehow actually harmed the battery permanently.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

I bought a new battery and I still have the same problem with the battery I am running the data apps but I can charge my phone and take it off make 1 2 min call and my meter is down to 80% I've used a few roms some work better than others but still nothing working great. I would flash back to the 3.16 but I found that the data disconects all the time when i'm using my phone as a modem.

Re: 3.35 Battery Killer. More like slaughterer.

it's definitely the radio.

I have been using all the roms, and battery life was the best on 2.17. On 3.16 it got worse, and then on 3.35 it was more pitiful.

i recently cooked a rom using basekit 5059, and now 5060, and I *think* it's worse, but I haven't really gone through a normal weekday, so I can't comment, but I was discussing this issue with no2chem, and he mentioned that he has been noticing worse battery life, and he is chalking it up to the radio, which I agree. the 3.whatever radio that comes with 3.35 is a huge battery hog or so it seems. I took my phone off the charger this morning around 1230, and it's now 2:24AM, and I'm at 61%. albeit I did make some calls, and send a few texts, but nothing substantial. probably no more than 1.5 hours of talk, and no more than 20 texts. a little bit of internet usage. is the battery life bad? yes. bad enough to go back to older roms? no.

If thats the case:

I say reflash, something had to have goofed when you guys/gals were loading the radio. (Yeah I'm one of those who has stellar Batt-life with this rom )
Running on a bare setting was fine & bare with reg tweaks was incredible & my normal setup not so different.

BTW PRL update for the hell of it too, the new ROM will downgrade a PRL back to 60610, 60611 is the latest.

In any case, I'd reflash the current radio before I downgrade to a previous one. :/
