Re: Official ROM Release Date Speculation Thread - RENAMED - MERGED

Thesian: This thread wouldn't be so long (and tempers wouldn't be so short) if Sprint and HTC would communicate more effectively with their customers. If Sprint would take what they spend on national advertising for one day (it must be considerable) and put it into keeping their CS reps informed, it just might go a long way towards resolving customer complaints.

As to who has the best signal, honestly it depends on where you live - sometimes right down to the neighborhood. I dropped AT&T because I couldn't get a good signal at my house. I had to go stand next to a window to make a call, and it would still get dropped half the time. Had no problems inside a building at the place I was working at the time. After I started working from home I switched to Sprint so I could get a better signal. I have no complaints about their signal or their coverage area. (ETA: Someone who lives elsewhere may have issues, but I presently do not.)

Re: Official ROM Release Date Speculation Thread - RENAMED - MERGED

Ive just become very bored with my phone as it is lacking all the good features. The ones that i would take advantage of the most are the ones not working. The part that bugs me the most is all the canned lame responses. I would rather just be told to go screw and that they have no real idea about any of it "youll get it when you get it"

Re: Official ROM Release Date Speculation Thread - RENAMED - MERGED

FWIW here is a response i received today from sprint regarding the update:

Thank you for contacting Sprint. I will be happy to assist you regarding the software update for the Mogul.

I can certainly understand your concerns and apologize for any inconvenience.

Unfortunately there is no further information regarding the availability of this update other than Q1 2008. I wish there was a date I could provide you with but unfortunately there is not. Any information that you receive from any representatives regarding the Mogul update will likely be false as an official statement has not been provided regarding the update.

Thank you again for contacting Sprint. We appreciate your business.

Sincerely,
Brandon A.

Re: Official ROM Release Date Speculation Thread - RENAMED - MERGED

Ok, ive only been at this about 6 months, but there is one thing that I have OFFICIALLY learned from all this.

-- There is no such thing as an OFFICIAL release date. Especially when it comes to ROMS. Any statements to the contrary are ALWAYS speculation, even from the sprint techs who are working on the ROM. All they do is work on it, and they hear "rumor" from above when it will be released. There isn't a customer service agent or tech in sprint yet that has even given us a true and straight answer.

Thats my lesson of the day. LOLOLOL

Re: Official ROM Release Date Speculation Thread - RENAMED - MERGED

Just finished an online chat with a Sprint rep who insisted my phone was GPS capable.

(Edit: On reflection, I was too harsh about someone who was just doing their job. Sorry.)

As I said before, Sprint needs to cut back on their ad budget, at least temporarily, and work on better training their CS people.

Then he apparently lost the thread and thought I was trying to ask HOW to update my phone and referred me to tech support.

Sigh. I was very polite. Not his fault. As I said before, Sprint needs to cut back on their ad budget, at least temporarily, and work on better training their CS people.

I don't get how you calling tech support about something that you should be obviously aware off.

Not to sound rude but you sure do have a lot of time on your hands calling customer service. How can you be a member of PPCGEEKS and be calling Sprint and asking about ROM updates or how to activate GPS.

I just feel you should know better.

First, I'm taking a sick day.

Second, I was in a chat (not a call. I don't have much of a voice right now) and I asked about the availability of the upgrade. I did it just on the off chance that someone might have some info. (I happened to be checking my bill, so I didn't just go to the web site to ask.)

(Again, I was harsh. Ignore my previous comments. )

I guess I wasn't too clear before. It's the cold meds. Sorry.
