Thanks alot fo this post, i did my first custom rom today and by following the instructions it went flawlessly, well almost it stuck on the HTC screen and i though i bricked my phone but after leaving the battery out overnight It came rioght up to installing windows mobile 6.1, thanks again

generally removal of the battery for a few min will solve that problem

And the device still shows as not being connected

ignore the fact that activesync doesnt see your device, just keep going

Thank you!! I have the 2.40 running, but the color bar screen is up and I have connected and diconnected the usb and the device still shows not conncetion to active sync. Do I just continue on or do some kind of reset. ???

Installed the program and device has reset but looks like it is hanging up on the HTC Smart mobility home page?

I did a little reading and will take the battery out for a little bit. PPC NOOB THANK YOU very much for you help!!!

This guide needs to be updated. You can't relock your phone from a Gps enable rom backwards. To say the least this is pertinent. IF you click on the relocker link, it even hides it so it's harder to download.

Theres a lot of info in this thread and I wanted to make CERTAIN I fully understood the essence of this thread.

As it stands today 5/2/2008; anyone with a stock ROM from HTC or through their carrier, ie the sprint ROM 3.35 that has EVDO A and GPS enabled can use the new Oli 2.4 bootloader/unlocker and flash a custom ROM and reflash the 3.35 ROM but CAN NOT go back to a previous stock Bootloader/ROM and relock the phone as was possible before 3.16 or 3.17 (whichever) ROM that activated the GPS.

Also, currently, any attempt to step backwards to pre-GPS bootloader and ROMs on phones with activated GPS ROMS (ie Sprint 3.35), so the phone can be relocked to try to handle warranty issues, bricks the phone.

Is this an accurate assessment of the situation as of this date?

By the way, all you guys providing the tools, expertise and forums absolutely rock!
