I appreciate the follow-up, I followed your steps with some modification:
1. Flashed official 2.17 ROM (thank God I found that on their website)
2. Relocked the phone
3. Flashed official 3.35 ROM

Now at this point I assume if I want to upgrade from here, I'll install the Olipro 2.40 hard-SPL, then flash with nueROM, etc.

Wife and 2 kids with no phone, I was sweating hard for awhile!
I need to download 2.17 - looked at HTC's website but couldn't find it - could you provide the linkyou used? Thaks.

Jack

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

I have a XV 6800 (verizon). I have been reading these sites vigurously for 2 days trying to get everything sorted out before I do the new ROM. I just want to make sure that in the process I dont lose the function of my phone. I need my phone everyday for work. Anyway, I really want to be able to use my internal GPS. I dont really care too much about anything else. Should I give the new ROM a shot. Or is there a good chance I am going to have problems?
Thanks in advance,
Brandon

Does anyone notice that the link to the new unlocker is dead? I'm kinda stuck at that step because I can't get the unlocker =[

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

Brandon, I have been wondering the same thing. I also have the verizon xv6800 but have been scared to write considering the responses that some people get on here.

So if this has been answered a few times I appologize in advance but I have been following this forum for the past couple weeks, daily. I really dont ever see much for information on the verizon phone. Could someone please point us in the right direction.

Thanks
Kris

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

I agree.... I'm on VERIZON

I sure would like to upgrade to the new radio that's out there... and then take advantage of No2Chem's #5054 but I can't seem to get there without spending a few hours on it....

It sure would be REAL nice if maybe we could get a VERIZON master catagory up and running under Titan UPDATES. Having to decode what's going to work on my xv6800 is very frustrating.

CAN WE PLEASE get a VERIZON catagory going ....PLEEEEEZE!

I just spent around 2 hours trying to work backwards with the unlocker (I've been using 2.40 but read that I should LOCK and then go back to 1.20, load the new radio, then LOCK, then back to 2.40.... then I was planning on catching (loading) No2's 5054 which looks like it may include "add'l carriers" when looking at No2's first page notes on 5054. Alot of this has been guess work....

John

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

john I am with you on that one. I have been reading and reading but am really having a hard time figuring out what set way works with the xv6800 on verizon.

Sorry to take over the thread but I would also love a seperate thread just for the verizon version. I think it would stop a lot of confusion for both sides.

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

Hopefully some of the senior members are looking at this request for a VERIZON catagory or some way to make things clearer. I keep kicking myself for spending so much time looking through all these threads ...kinda like looking for a pin in a haystack!

I don't mean that we would like to be segrated (sp?) into our own world but I just think it would cut down on a lot of confusion. Any other suggestions?

I hate to be a pain and I know that VERIZON was very late coming out with their xv6800 so the rest of the world (Sprint, etc) has a huge jump on us.

Up in my neck of the woods VERIZON is the only network that actually works well. All the rest have VERY VERY VERY limited service. I sure do wish we had more choices!

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

Hello all, I am having trouble with my Mogul. I tried to flash the official sprint version using vista's mobile command thing. It worked for a while then an error came up. Now my phone is stuck on the colored rot screen. I have tried to put in a .nbh and do it through a card but it does not do anything. Because it is stuck in this state it also will not connect to the pc. Any ideas?

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

I cannot figure out how to get it out of this screen. It is on the colored rom screen, it either says serial or USB depending on if i am trying to plug it in. Since it is in this 'mode' the computer will not recognize it so I cannot go do the flash because i get the error that it is not connected. Please someone help!
