Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

Today I made my very first flash ever! I am no running No2Chem's 5051 ROM and it is awesome.

As others have said, you need to read a LOT before attempting anything. I spent all of yesterday learning everything I could about the process and gathering files. Even still, I ran into a few issues, but I didn't panic because I kinda expected them.

Ultimately, I think this guide is the best and most up-to-date out there, but it alone is still not enough. Before you start doing anything, you need to read every step of this guide carefully and search for anything that doesn't make sense before attempting a flash. Once you have a very clear idea of how the process works, then you may start going through the steps for real.

If you cannot recover using that information, try posting the bootloader version showing on your bootloader (big color bands) screen, as well as the ROM and radio versions that show on the bottom of the screen as it starts to boot up (a D number and an R number). Just writing those numbers down and looking at them might show you what needs to be done.

If you followed the steps on the first post in this thread, you can probably just do that again replacing the reference to "Unofficial carrier released rom 3.16" with "Official carrier released rom 3.35.651.2" or whatever the ROM ID is.

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

I have read all of this and still I am stuck at the tri-color bootloader. I ran the uni-exitloader but nothing happens. So where can I find the stock ROM?

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

If you give us more details on where it's failing and what's happening, we might be able to help you. Did you disable USB in ActiveSync?

Edit: sorry, this link is for the Verizon ROM.

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

I followed the guide to a T. I flashed from stock 2.17 to 3.16, and relocked, and tried to install N2C . I ran the RUU app, and extracted the nueRom v2.0 build 5051.rar's contents into the RUU folder.

It keeps getting stuck at 0% (error 262). I've recovered three times with no luck. Any ideas?

Im back at the tri color screen. Hopefully someone can help. TIA!

I keep looking at the instructions, but nothing is helping.

I'm in the process of flashing back to 3.16. Seems to be working fine. So it flashes to 316 easily, but not to N2Chem's....Out of ideas ATM

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

Ok, so I flashed back to 3.16 - successful. I hard reset as soon as I got it flashed. I ran the Unlocker and then I extracted the N2C rom to the RUU folder and ran the RomupdateUtility.. But I still get the 262 error and stuck at 0%

Re: An Easy Guide to Upgrading

When you say the "Unlocker", what version of the bootloader is this giving you?

What is error 262?? What's the text associated with it? Have you made sure there is only one .nbh file in the RUU folder? Have you made sure USB is disabled ActiveSync?
