Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

pdanet works but I don't especially like pdanet as it needs an activesync connection and a windows based pc. I really wish that I knew what was wrong with usbmodem so I could be more of a help. Maybe it just doesn't run because it is an older program.

No, every time I run it, it tells me it has to reboot and install the driver.

Re: No2Chem nueROM 2.0 (WM6.1) Thread

Does anyone know why I cannot get past the "HTC" startup screen after I installed 5051? It just freezes at that screen and a hard reset does nothing. I had to reinstall 5049.

No2Chem posted an important note several times in the first post of this thread about this problem, so I just want to make sure...
Did you follow his directions exactly?

The reason I asked is that I had the same problem and when I followed his directions EXACTLY, everything worked perfectly.

It shows as active in CommManager- just add IR as Default under HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\0 or any other 0..6 entry and it will be possible to toggle it On/Off, but it never changes under Settings->Connections->Beam.

This is not just soft setting- tested it with IrDA on notebook. Actually this is how I noted the issue- notebook makes sound every time it finds IR device and even IR was "disabled" on the phone, my notebook was still beeping when the phone was around.
This could potentially drain the battery.

That strange, mine doesnt work LOL

Edit...Thanx for the reg settings, I can see if it turn it off and on now, but its is very strange I can't get it to work. Must be something im doing incorrect

Did you follow the instructions to the letter? By that, I mean did you do the whole "hard reset, remove battery, wait 5 minutes, reinsert battery" thing? It took me a couple of tries before this actually worked for me.

Thanks for the replies guys. I did take out the battery and do a hard reset but it still freezes at the HTC screen. I was mistaken when I made the comment that I installed 5049, but I mistakenly installed the stock rom. I cannot even install 5049, which does the same freeze up thing.

BTW, I sucessfully installed 5049 on my previous Mogul, but I had to get a new (refurbished) unit after the usb port got screwed up on the old unit. I am doing everything the same and successfully installed it, but it just freezes at the "HTC" startup screen.
