It shows as active in CommManager- just add IR as Default under HKLM\Software\HTC\CommManager\0 or any other 0..6 entry and it will be possible to toggle it On/Off, but it never changes under Settings->Connections->Beam.
This is not just soft setting- tested it with IrDA on notebook. Actually this is how I noted the issue- notebook makes sound every time it finds IR device and even IR was "disabled" on the phone, my notebook was still beeping when the phone was around.
This could potentially drain the battery.

That strange, mine doesnt work LOL
Edit...Thanx for the reg settings, I can see if it turn it off and on now, but its is very strange I can't get it to work. Must be something im doing incorrect
