Ok one other interesting thing I noticed...the old dialer used to have "programming readouts" like. For example, when doing an over the air update, it would readout on the screen in yellow text "programming in progress....SPL unlocked" and so on and so forth. It would also prompt to restart the phone after a PRL or programming update. I also noticed that in 5049 and 5050, the display would also list where the phone call was being made to, i.e. province or state, which was a nice feature to have!

You DID read the sticky right??? What you are downloading is the nbh file, the ROM itself. In the sticky page, there's a link to the RUU - ROM update utility if I'm not mistaken. The RUU is run on the computer. So are the radio upgrades and the unlocking utility. Keep in mind this WILL WIPE ALL THE DATA you have on your phone.

@ no2chem is there anything that changed in 5051 that might effect the use of USBModem??? For some reason I can not use it to connect via USB. It will not enable.

I did some searching regarding this matter but it is still unclear to me;

Whats the best way to backup your apps and settings if you are staying with the same ROM but just switching to a newer build? Would SPB backup be a good solution for that, or is a UC script the only way to do it without screwing things up?

What about if you are switching to a new ROM?

Those of you that flash all the time, what do you guys use?

Great ROM No2Chem!!!!!!!

It is definitely faster than 5050. The only problem I am having since that I was not having with 4048 is that I can't use "Resco Keyboard Pro". Has anybody successfuly installed this app on 5051?

Hrm...I can't use PocketCM KB. I wonder if its something to do with SIP's in general? Anyone know for sure? I just thought maybe it was the combination of things I installed that was causing the additional SIPs to not work, but maybe not if someone else is having problems too. Ideas?

Have you unlocked your phone yet? If not, read "Installing a Custom ROM" at this thread http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=17667

When you extract the .nb file, place it in an empty RUU. Extract the files from this download into another folder.(ftp://ppcgeeks:ezupload@up.ppcgeeks....N/roms/RUU.rar)

Place the no2chem ROM into the folder you just created, and run the RomUpdateUtility.

hmm, what version was it last working fine in..

could be the powermanagement...

It is USBModem version 1.25 and rom version 5051 and yes it was working great in 5050 and older roms.
