Help! After reading through this thread, I decided to check if I had VZApps installed. Well apparently I didn't but do now? Anyhow, since i seen it listed in programs, I clicked on it and it proceeded to auto-magically install a cab w/o even a chance to cancel. So I proceeded to quickly look in the "Settings - Remove Programs" list and of course it wasn't there. Figured I should soft-reset at this point to see it it populates in there so I can un-install.

So now the problem. After 3 soft resets I can not access anything! It is like the whole screen is frozen except for the phone button to bring up the phone, volume control , ect... No keypresses on screen so I can't access anything! I can and am hooked presently to computer through Active Sync and can read/explore files... Please advise. Is there a "Safemode" proggy that i can install somehow via active sync and try that?

Hate the thoughts of a hard reset already as I've spent hours reading and tweaking this damn thing.

if u can get to it...download the trial of memmaid, load it on your device and try to run it...
if you can, they actually give you the option of deleting verizon apps in that program!
i got rid of mobile im and vzapp now i have 26mb free!

That's the problem. I can't screen press to engage anything atm. Only thing works is the buttons. Is there a way to navigate and execute commands, settings ect with just the button(s) as they are still default setup - I haven't remapped anything? I can ... oops. never mind trying now seems I can get into the one screen showing omnia programs or whatever with that top right button on side then I finally figured out how to use the joystick to select... Off to figure this out! What a mess...

Re: Omnia's main storage continues to shrink!

lazer9....if you can get to the Omnia programs screen you should be able to do a bit of repair work. Aleis had a VERY good suggestion in Memmaid, but either way this goes (and like him, I would delete both files) I would seriously look into a backup app (SPB and RESCO are the biggies). I use SPB backup, and if you do a full system backup before any tweaks or installs you won't be caught like this, it would be so easy at this point to do a hard reset and in just a couple minutes fully restore your PPC to the point it was at right before the glitch occurred, saving you hours of work and frustration!!!!

Thanks and good suggestion. I will be looking into a backup and/or safe mode app. Finally had to resort to a "hard reset" as even though I could access some things w/ the buttons, there was no way to engage the commands to fully run or install any cabs as in pressing the OK at bottom left - button there just brought up my phone everytime and joystick would not toggle no way to highlight or select.

Re: Omnia's main storage continues to shrink!

The only app I know of that has a 'safe-mode' is SPB's PocketPlus.

I am sure there are others, but I know that one does....I'll keep an eye open for them!!

Re: Omnia's main storage continues to shrink!

I am also out of memory and Cleartemp only freed up 400kb........ I have a shortcut for VZapp but have never used it I don't think. Whatever the case is I cannot seem to find the VZapp folder under program files. Any advice?

If I look at my device properties in windows it shows 3.66 free of 88.1 mb..... but with all folders highlighted together are only 696 Files 115 folders totaling 21.1mb contained on that drive. Where is the rest of that memory?
