Re: 6700 ---> 6800 via insurance swap?

Re: 6700 ---> 6800 via insurance swap?

Thanks guys/gals for posting this !!!!

I was on my 3rd phone and all of a sudden it stops reading flash cards. No matter how they were formated, would not read them. Then I read this.

So I call customer service, the nice lady I talked to said, "I can give you the same phone but, if I was you, I would try your local store"

Wanted to add some more detail here. So when I went into the verizon store to the tech support desk, he looks up my account, told me to wait "I have to get a manager involved" and came out. He didn't even ask me what was wrong with the phone till he had the 6800 in his hand to swap out.

I just came back from the verizon store, with a brand new XV6800 !

Thank you again !

BTW: this was all done through verizon, as there was no damage to the phone, just stopped working correctly

Re: 6700 ---> 6800 via insurance swap?

I'm thinking about doing this. My 6700 is ok, but its getting old and very slow. However, I'm using vista and the mobile device center is horrible so I am a little concerned about it working as far as swapping all my info over. I can't even tell that its actually synced to the computer since it doesnt update in windows calendar or contacts and it doesnt work 90% of the time.

Anyway, should I just say my phone is missing or something? I have insurance on my line.

Re: 6700 ---> 6800 via insurance swap?

No, tell them you can't send or recieve pix messages. Worked whenever I wanted a replacment. I just got them to keep me anothe replacment today. They keep offering me a brand new 6800 if I renew but I'm not. And I decided not to take the one from a friend cos the battery is weak. I want to get one outa of them. I'm gonna play the lemon game.

But I can send and receive pix messages. I'm guessing their first thing to do would be to send me one and show me how to retrieve it, then I would just look like an idiot.

Uhg... just got my replacement from Asurion (sp). Another 6700. I'm going to call and complain that they sent me a 'defective' replacement. If I whine enough, maybe they'll send me a 6800.

That's the game I'm playing. (Lemon Game). They always offer a new one if you renew. so if you don't mind then I guess it's a good deal. But I don't want to. So this is my last month of manufature defect so I gota play fast.
