Re: Epic 4G vs. Evo Shift 4G. Which is the phone to get? Why?

It is very obvious that the shift will last longer on battery, as stated in previous posts,
about the processor being new generation, more powerful, and using less battery.

Bottom line, is the user experience...

Are you a true geek power user?(cough..EPIC,EVO).. OR
Do you Just want a good smaller phone that works..
a toyish but better "Android" version of TP2..(cough,Shift)

My guess is that most here are power users and so..
this SHIFT is THE phone to get, for...
Your girlfriend! or wifey!..
Anyone who doesn't care about details and just want a good user experience.

EPIC and EVO are more bigger, and that fact alone
does not sit good with anyone who wants portability over size.

DONT WASTE YOUR UPGRADE!! on this unit,
when you can salivate on the new phones in March!!
HTC Insiders rumors of new Sprint phones coming as well as "3D PHONES"
Similar to THIS ONE!

I don't mind the smaller screen but some articles have stated that the keyboard is not as user friendly as the Touch P2. I really like Android better than Windows. Windows may have lost a customer for life with all the problems I've had with the Touch P2 as far as the OS goes, but still trying to figure out if I want the Shift or if I should wait to see if something else new will be arriving soon.
not only is epic screen bigger (not important part to some) but its a SuperAMOLD screen and thats just great looking plus gorillaglass. no hdmi on shift either.

Shift can do DLNA just like the Epic though.

Re: Epic 4G vs. Evo Shift 4G. Which is the phone to get? Why?

Just bought the shift, my wife has the epic.
Things I have noticed so far:
No swype on the shift, you can't pull the onscreen keyboard up and down like the Epic, camera has only one mode single shot, epic has multi, panoramic, plus frames, kind of cool. Opening the keyboard is awkward feeling. Do like the dedicated camcorder icon, for quick videos. Connections are pull down from the main screen, as well as open apps , shift has neither. Positives over the epic so far, contacts are easy to arrange and set up in groups. Oh yea, can't figure out how to get the Friends feed removed, don''t want it. Im not sure if I will keep it or trade for the epic, also had to upgrade the 2gb mem card for a 16gb, that was 60 bucks.
