It's all about your personal choice... Given those two as my only option... I would go with the shift. But that's mainly based on PERSONAL taste. And NOT absed on nutrinos or carbon nanotubes or anything else that might require special equipment to detect. Most Sprit stores will let you play with an actual phone if you ask and you can also try for 30 days then return if you don't like it.

On paper the Epic is indeed EPIC. So the choice is easy for most. Good luck.

My brand new Epic's speakerphone has just died 2 days short of my 30 day trial period.

So. looks like I'm right back where I started again.
I am leaning towards the Shift now based on my hightly subjective experience with this failure.

Anyone has some good insight to help sway me?

Check out both threads... The Epic one and the Shift one...
Every one chooses a device for their OWN particular reasons.
You should too...
Just cuz you had a problem with the Epic... Doesn't mean that there aren't MANY users who LOVE their device.
I LOVE my EVO and my wife LOVES her Shift... The EVO is the best phone for me and the Shift for her.

It's not that tough...

Check them out in person and mess with them. That's how I made my choice after considering the Shift the Epic and the EVO.
