Re: Epic's 4" SAMOLED, Hummingbird, and FFC outweight the Evo Shift's software suppor
I believe the the epic is a better phone and it is only $50.00 more. Plus the front facing camera is better for video calls and skype. I purchased the epic because I believe this. But my opinion is bias because I purchased the epic. I was considering the shift but I decided on the epic because I believed it had more potential.

I think the only reason I would get a shift to try somthing different. I had the epic took it back bc I was tired of waiting for froyo and no foreal root or roms at time of buying so took back for evo but somtimes I wish I kept it but at the same time fell in love with evo. So idk shift might be alright but at the same time I like my goodies like higher pixels on camera a front mount one and kick stand bigger screen. I just don't know if I can go smaller and not have a front mount camera and only a 5 megapixel so yeah I think its more for the less tech savvy people like girlfriends and wives lol and people that don't root and flash. I am curious tho

That's what I wanted a thread in here. Thanks for posting. I gotta tell ya, the only thing that has me struggling with this decision is the lack of support from Samsung and the knowledge that we will be stuck with these phones long term. |

It's the lack of support from Samsung that is the only thing that has me struggling with this decision. The "announcement events" on 2/2/11 from Sprint with David Blane and the from Samsung on 2/13/11 also has me hesitant to pull the trigger. But, I KNOW we REQUIRE a QWERTY keyboard. All the dual cores I saw at CES were touchscreen only, and has me worried there will be no game changing QWERTY phones in the near future, or at all. Last edited by tt C6; 01-17-2011 at 10:21 AM. |

There may be hope for you non rooted Epic owners. Even though I'm not sure why you wouldn't just use this [Stock Flash][Odin]Dk28 Extended 12/05/2010 inc. Root,GPS hack,Clockwork+Redir. - xda-developers
Samsung Acclaim gets Froyo Samsung actually released a Froyo update on a U.S. carrier. Maybe the Galaxy S Line will follow?? Samsung Acclaim gets Froyo | Android Central |

Just a year. Most sprint plans qualify the user for a new phone every year. |
