I thought that the issue was third party servers as well when I first saw that Palringo wasn't working. But then I tried installing FIM which had previously worked on my stock Verizon ROM but refused to work on Energy ROMs. That made me suspicious that there is some sort of setting that needs adjusting. I have no idea what it could be but, as I already said, if this is an issue for multiple people then it might be worth talking about in here. And if not, someone might be able to tell me what setting I'm flipping that keeps messing up the apps for me.

Palringo works fine for me. Don't use FIM....

As far as contact photos goes... When I set the photo in the ROM's contact info* it shows up during calls.

Both "third party" apps that can be freely download on the net. If they have problems connecting, it's probably their servers... Especially palringo

palringo has given me nothing but problems in the past. The prob is probrably on there server end. They dont have great tech support either

I've looked all over Palringo's support forums and while the issue has been reported in the past, they have never had any constructive useful ideas for how to solve it. Guess I'll just have to hope that the issue fixes itself or do without.

Actually I signed up for an account after you asked for some feedback here in the forums. I added two different chat accounts and connected to each. Then I im'd a colleague for about twenty minutes without any issue whatsoever. I actually really liked the software. I am running the 3/20 23549 w/CHT. Good luck man!

Are you guys with contact picture issues setting the Facebook link inside the individual contact or are you going to Settings -> Data Services and setting your account up in the Facebook sync? I do the Sync from the Data Services and it seems fine for me. This is new to 2.5 I believe.

I posted earlier asking if anyone had any problems opening the new NRG ROMs (.7z files for the 20th of March).... seems no one has any issues...

I've d/l ALL the new ROMS - I get an error when clicking on the 7z zipped file saying it's corrupt. To test, I d/l the files on my wife's computer as well as my work comp - both completely different IP's, different operating systems etc., - and yet I continue to get a corrupt 7z file after download.

Am I really the only one with problems opening the new files? I don't get it that no one else has posted any issues. Never had any problems before, only with the March 20th .7z files.
