Verizon GPS not working anymore

I have the verizon rom installed. The WM6.1 I installed the Vahalla gps unlock, and the new fix from surfboard. I still can not get it to connect to any sats. I have the phone set to location on and the gps setting to com 4 and run by windows. I also have it set to managed by windows in google maps and still no sats. It searches and searches but never locks. I have followed all the directions, but just can't get it to work. Any one have any ideas what is wrong or what I have done wrong? Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Seems like everyone has just been getting different results. I have the VERIZON ROM from PDC ran customizations so I installed Valhalla with Serf Telus +*22899, change location setting to location on, made sure settings are COM4, None, Baud rate 4800, & managed by windows but nothing. No GPS? What did I do wrong? Do all these need to be installed in the local memory? Most of my installs are installed in the storage card but that shouldn't matter right? BTW I've never got mine to work ever.

I have the xv6900 from Verizon for over a year now. Got GPS to work with Valhalla for a while. I know in March the Verizon made some changes so the GPS no longer work for 3rd party. I just have my phone replaced a week ago (in May) and I've been trying all the tricks available onlline and it has not been working. I think the replacement phone or new phones that Verizon sent out has some trick that blocks the Valhalla crack. Let me know if your phones are recently received as well.

Yes, I received the phone last month. Is that what you think the problem is? I've even ran Holux GPS viewer and tried all sorts of settings for the registry that I have found here in the forums but not once have I ever locked to any satellites. Holux viewer does show GPS found in COM4 but when trying to acquire satellites nothing. No acquisitions of fix to any. If what you say is right that really sucks!!!

for those who about to give up I will write 1 more TUT today.no tweaking,no tools needed.Everything will be done via activesync and cab install from device)

you must have:

radio less or =3.42.30 (its in start/settings/system/device information)

REMEMBER: RADIO UPGRADE IS SAFE
DOWNGRADE IS EXTRIM.DANGEROUS

MEANING-YOU WONT BE ABLE TO SEE YOUR STOCK ROM AGAIN

NOW:
1)Update to official SPRINT ROM (let run customizations)
2)Install to device verizon_dcd.cab (when asking for reset-press cancel)
3)install VERIZON_OVERRIDER.CAB
NOW SOFT RESET (use power button)
4)Install REGSforVZW_Overrider&GPS.cab
soft reset again(use power button)
5)Unplug miniusb and run IExplorer (verizon will update your phone settings)

NOW UNLOCKING with 2.31 unlocker(even if your phone aready unlocked)

1)Connect with astivesync and run Vogue_unlocker.bat and follow instructions on black screen (unplug and plug when it asks) after black screen ROMUpdateUtility should start automaticly.
If not-run ROMUpdateUtility.exe (iin tmpvg23 folder)and follow steps on the screen
CANCEL customizations (use stylus)

Thats it.

If GPS still not working

Install dcd cab (cancel soft reset if asks)
Install Overrider
soft reset
install regsforoverrider&gps.cab
Soft reset

After all this you should have Verizon HTC home plugin on today screen and GPS should work.
At this point your hardware and software updated officially.
dcd cab should fix your data connection.if not use ##data# or call tech support.nothing to be afraid of becouse that ROM is HTC official.

search for NFSNANs,WDMs,OMJs,MY,AND OTHERS ROMs

edit: you can also upgrade radio to 3.42.50 by flashing BELL official ROM.I dont see any difference.I had fast GPS and good reception with 3.42.30 too.

TRY TO REINSTALL DCD CAB.
its no big deal.the whole idea is to use IE or any browser to start up override.dll.After you done with all those steps you dont have to use that ROM

thanks for helping out. I will wait till someone try your method first before I'll work on mine because my phone is critical to me. After going through your steps, do we still have Opera and all the feature 6.1 has?

There are nothing special.I did this on the same day of vogue purchase.Overrider contains 1 dll from verizon stock ROM.every carrier uses its own,but I noticed that cricket uses the same dll.they probably under verizon towers.
I just remember that after unlocking I cancelled customizations and my today plugin became red with verizon software store lol,verizon internet sharing application(with 2 arrows logo) lol.I was totally confuzed.when I tryed to check voicemail it dials *68,i think,instead of my spcs phone number lol and man voice replied- welcome blah blah blah.

Edit:I think Opera will be there.Cant tell you for sure...

thanks for all the info guys just got my verizon xv6900 to connect with google maps using my gps so its still possible and im just glad i finally got it.
