Thumbs up VX6900 GPS Easy Fix!

"Serfboreds" has come up with a really easy GPS Fix if your running Valhalla with the latest Verizon rom. Simple and easy as pie. Dowload and install the Serf Telus aGPS for Valhalla Cab and dial *22899 to reprogram the phone. Damn thing is working again!!!!!!!!

Fix to the Verizon's BS move to shut down the GPS!

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

ive just been trying to get it to work in stand alone mode, im still waiting for my vogue to get activated so i unlocked it, upped the radio to 3.42.30 (im on verizon and i dont know if thats why its not working?) and made my own 6.1 rom and when i use visualgpsce or tomtom i see sats and at most ill see 4 that will show hi %'s but nothing locks i already have it set to disable agps by reg settings but left everything else the way it was, any ideas?

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I'm running Verizon's official ROM update and Serf Telus aGPS for Valhalla Cab. I haven't tried any of the cooked roms. I have developed an interesting problem that I don't associate with the updates to open the GPS. THe phone now will not dial up a data connection. Trying to isolate the issue, but looks like I'll have to do a hard reset since reprogramming has not solved my issue.

Verizon XV6800 user, MR1 w/Valhalla GPS. Mine died about a month ago as well. Been stumped as to why. This fix took care of it and it now works once again.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Same boat. I have NFS 6.5 Rom, radio 3.43.50. I had GPS working briefly when I pointed to the 216. address. GPS stopped working a bit later, checked the IP in the reg and it changed back to the Verizon IP??? 65. ?

Checked QPST, everything and VZW GPS is cooked again. Anyone else? Is there some new change we need to know about?
----

UPDATE: aGPS working again - very strange. Locks in seconds.

This is for folks who did not let Verizon MR1/MR2 customizations run (no Vahalla), I am on NFSFAN's 6.5 v8 ROM (outstanding ROM BTW), Radio 3.42.50:

in QPST
set server IP to: 216.198.139.92
set port to 8889
protocol to IP

in Registry:
EnableAGPS - 1
Gpsmode - 4 (was set to 2 and it did not work. changed to 4 and it worked)
Registry serverIP - 216.198.139.92
Port 8889

Soft reset - double check registry settings (it appears mine swapped back to VZWs IP)

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I Had the same problem, with not getting a data connection, and had to do a system restore and *228 to solve the problem, got no GPS though, so this did not work for me. Verizon stock upgrade to 6.1 with Valhalla agps. Too bad for now
