Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

If you are using the Agps fix. Deleting #777 is not going to block data connection since the gpsOne chip adn the QPST settings will use the IP and port to get data which verizon will charge you for.

Best option to use GPS in standalone mode.

Can anyone Let me know if I am wrong about this.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Okay, GPS hasn't been working *properly* for me either in the last week or so. It is taking FOREVER for a lock, just like before I put in the PDE server IP of 66.174.95.132 using QPST.

I have done NOTHING to the phone that should affect GPS. About 2-3 weeks ago (before these problems) I was getting cold locks in a few minutes, and warm and hot locks within 30 seconds. Now it takes at LEAST 10 minutes of me standing outside in an open area waiting for it to find a satellite.

This indicates to me that it's a problem on Verizon's end...

What have they done!!?!?

Use qpst and change to the Telus settings from post #2 here:

http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread...t=verizon+aGPS

That should get you back on track. And review all pages of this thread for additional insight. Good luck.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Yeah, I just finished doing that. Cold lock in under 1 minute, 6 satellites, all from just standing by my window (didn't have to go outside!)

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I couldn't uninstall Valhalla so I did a hard reset to start over.

I was finally able to connect with QPST (the settings were blank originally, I guess when I went to official VZW ROM the settings got lost) and modify my settings to:

216.198.139.92
8889
IP
PDE

I also installed the VZW cab to make the registry settings and changed the settings to reflect the same changes above.

I've checked location to make sure it is on and I checked com4 settings.

Still nothing in google maps or gps viewer.

I really don't want to go back to the Official VZW ROM just to get gps.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\Mode=2 Decimal
HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEAddress=5C8BC6D8 Hex <-set to Hex before entering
HKLM\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\PDEPort=8889 Decimal

Ok what the hell!! After this working for 24 hours, then not working again, I changed the value to 8888 and it is seemingly working.. what's really going on here?

Still getting locks here on Telus so I believe it is not the server IP, but the hardware and software solutions that you are using. The problem lies in Valhalla's drivers I believe; many people have experienced that the settings roll back after a while. I don't think there will be a fix for Valhalla as I believe Skywing may have moved on to bigger things.

Some have experienced lasting results with Custom Roms for the Vogue, you may want to try that avenue.

I'm not using Valhalla's drivers. I'm using OMJ's custom rom from this walthhrough and I've triple checked the settings in both QPST and in the registry. It is still pointing to Telus.

But disregard, seems I was being just a bit impatient. It seems to be working now.
