Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I changed the accuracy key but it seems to have done nothing. It took close to 20 seconds to get a lock but that was expected with it jacked to 255. I am sitting in my house right now comparing accuracy with a satellite image zoomed in on google maps so I will try again later while Im out on the road. Last night while I was using strict GPS with agps disabled I was getting 4 locks inside my house with the same inaccuracy and about the same distance off. I am getting 7 locks this morning with agps enabled again on the telus server. I dont think it's entirely the agps's faultfor the inaccuracy, but while I was using the default agps server a couple weeks ago that was in valhalla before it went out I was never more then 10 feet off actual location and that was when I was speeding around town. So the cause is still kinda unknown to me.

I can't find much either on that key, it may be the case that the GPSone chip in our phone isn't robust enough to make use of these settings to their fullest.

Doesn't hurt to adjust them, just note what the default setting was so you can put it back. I think that there is only so much our phone can do due to the hardware issue, and tinkering with the values may have little to no effect. We are bound by GPS sats, cell coverage, weather, your individual phone's unique performance and God knows what else. This is why people get such varied results with the same exact phones. I have had over a dozen 6800s and some definitely are better with GPS data than others.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

I finally got a lock using Valhalla and the edits after a hard reset. Something must have been hosed from my previous regedits. Thanks everyone for all the feedback.

Is anyone having issues with Live Search? Google works fine, but Live search will not lock.

I gave Live Seach a shot yesterday with no luck. This was right after getting a lock with Google Maps so I definitely had signal. I also tried VisualGPSce to view sats and it only worked after getting a lock with Google Maps. The last thing I need to try is amAzeGPS.

I have had a few time lags over the last 2 days locking in with both WLS & Google Maps depending on my geographic location in Manhattan. I attribute this to the skyscapers occasionally blocking the signals. Eventually they do find the necessary satelittes and I am good to go.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Anyone running a custom rom, like NFSFAN, that doesn't use the vahalla server?

What are your settings for verizon? Is the ip in decimal form? Are you using agps? are you using pde or mobile?

Thanks!

NFSFAN is unique cause he cooked GPS unlock into the ROM, but it was based on the old VZW aGPS server. You will need to update but I am not sure where his drivers are pointing inside the registry. If you know how to do an export of the registry, PM me with it and I can look around and try to help (dont post it here though or we will know everything about you

I am on custom rom with aGPS definitely working (along with a bunch of people on Vogues and Titans) and have decimal IP entered in SUPL AGPS, but Valhalla people have hex for IP. QPST should be PDE.
