I am curious about some settings that could affect that but need a bit more information from you....Could you fill in the blanks below for the settings in your registry?

GPS Mode =
QoSAccuracy =
QoSPerformance =
EnablePDEIPFromNV =

And in QPST do you have Mobile or PDE setting?

Thanks

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

GPS Mode = 2
QoSAccuracy = 64
QoSPerformance = 10
EnablePDEIPFromNV = Dont have this registry key

Like I said before today the only thing I ever changed was the gpsmode to turn off agps in vahalla. Today I reset the mode to 2, changed the IP to the telus agps server, and changed the fix rate to 300 milliseconds because the standard 1000 was to slow for my liking. But even before changing the rate it was still as inaccurate. The inaccuracy didnt start until this whole mess started a week or so ago along with everyone else loosing agps.

As for qpst I never bothered with with that. As I said before valhalla I used some other rom along with the titan unlucker and whatnot. After I read about valhalla I used that right away.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Mepis,

Check out this doc I found here, you may want to adjust these settings upward to a max of 255 and test while driving using a program to track how far off you are with each. Report back as I would be interested to see some empirical results.

REG_DWORD HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Valhalla Legends\GPSServer\QoSAccuracy = Relative fix accuracy requested. Defaults to 64. (Max of 255, higher values request a more accurate fix, but this may increase the time to acquire a fix.)

Has anyone been able to resolve the accuracy issue? I use my vogue on the golf course and while I may be able to live with 30 second locks (not really) the loss of accuracy makes it worthless

From where I stand you have a few variables to test:

1. You can try using the Bell aGPS information posted here on post #73. I got good locks yesterday when I was testing but I didn't check for accuracy. You could also see if any of the other server IPs are working from post #74.

2. You can adjust the registry settings to what is optimal for you. I would think that if the QosAccuracy doesn't do anything for you, Mode would be the only other really important area to play with.

3. Try updating PRL and software through *22899, it may help a little. Having new QuickGPS data downloaded may help a bit.

4. Try some other GPS software and see if it is more or less accurate.

5. Hard reset and flashing new ROMS. This may be the one area that really makes a difference. Just make sure that you don't load a bunch of other stuff before testing GPS so you can have some confidence in your results.

6. Anything that anyone else can think of???

Just FYI I am good using TomTom within five or ten feet at worst. How accurate do you need to be? I mean are you using this for your approach shot using a three wood or are you looking to drain a twenty footer?

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

Thanks for the reply Josh. I need to really test the accuracy and not rely on something like satelite pictures in google maps. When I take a closer look at google maps the roads aren't sitting on the sat view roads anyway. When I'm in the house, google maps puts me on my front lawn. Live Search has me just about right.

But the real reason for this post; Has anyone noticed that the VZW AGPS server is back and working. I flashed my phone with NFSFAN's 1.14 last night and all day it's like the good old days! Locks in seconds! (afraid I'm jinxing this!)

The registry shows serverip 66.174.95.132 and port 8888

Edit: I knew I'd jinx this. It worked for about 20 hours but sometime between 4:00PM and 5:45PM PDT VZW must have caught on! It's now taking about a minute to get a fix inside. I'll keep testing though.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

So is anyone getting a reliable lock using the Valhalla cab? I have only gotten one lock this week and that was with agps off. I have yet to get even a single sat with agps on and it is getting frustrating. My settings have been the ones I listed in post 127 for the last two days. If Sprint had the Diamond 2 out, I think I would jump ship right now.

Re: Verizon GPS not working anymore

OK then something else is at work with me if you are getting those locks. Ive been on the verge of a hard reset for a couple of weeks so I think I'll go ahead and do that and then rebuild to these settings. Thanks for the information.
