Re: Anyone using iGO 8
Anyone got the dem files to work for canada? I have the maps and they are working great... I turned on the detail for 3d at high... I just cant seem to see anything really pronounced when it comes to a really steep street. I saw this video here... anyone has that as some result?

On a side note, iGo really needs to fix the text to speech. It likes to call my street name Doctor instead of Drive lmfao. Also the GPS signal strength bar on the map/nav screen does not seem to display correctly. It just was always showing full bars for me despite when going into the GPS viewer within the program being told in there that I only had a average signal. Other than that this program flat out rocks. |

The files will be named something like EnglishUs6.9.lex, depending on the voice you are trying to modify. Edit them with a text editor (wordpad, etc.) I think there are some dictionary files already out there if you go looking. ex: "Dr" = "Drive" Edit: On a related note, how well do the high quality voices work for you Vogue users? They cause out of memory errors on my Mogul after a few minutes. The low quality TTS voices work OK, but there is a noticeable difference in audio quality. Re: Anyone using iGO 8
I opened up the lex file in wordpad and notepad but all it does is show unrecognizable characters. Can you give more details on how to edit the lex files?

I'm not sure what format the originals are saved in, but here is a sample of a more complete dictionary file. You should be able to open it with Wordpad/MS Word.
