If you are running AS4.5 then try this next
1. Backup the Outlook data file (export to a personal folder file). 2. Completely remove Outlook from the machine. Do this from the control panel, add/remove programs rather than the office disk. 3. From the original office disk, re-install Outlook. 4. Go to Settings, Control Panel, Mail, Show Profiles, delete your old profile and create a new one. 5. Start Outlook and import the file you originally exported in step 1. 6. Start ActiveSync on the PC and select File, Delete Mobile Device. 7. Connect to your mobile device ande create a new partnership - Voila ! Problem solved ! If your not running 4.5 yet, update it first. |

Exchange
I know this may not be the answer you are looking for, but I might recommend trying an over the air sync like exchange. I purchase exchange hosting through Sher Web and it is worth ever penny.

Noo
don't send it back!!! send it to me and I'll send you $$ for it. I already have the touch and loving it but I could use another one for the wifey. I haven't had any syncing problem whatsoever but I am syncing directly to the exchange server. knock on wood. I know this reply has nothing to do with your situation except telling you not to send it back and send it to me!! if you got it free then get some money for it. Maybe you really didn't get it free but just saying it because you're trying to prove a point. sending something "free" back instead of selling it is crazy. maybe you're a billion billion gazillion times richer than the rest of us and probably why money is no object to you. if that is the case, buy everyone on this forum a free touch

From what I can see mail2web only sends you your mail. I use exchange to sync my calendar, email, contacts, and tasks. To me the sync of everything is worth way more than just sending me my email. I can reset my phone, and have all mt contacts etc back in just a few sec. Also with exchange 2007 I can search for any email I have in Outlook no matter how old it is. I have over 10,000 emails, and obviously I cant store them all on my PPC. I also use exchange to sync my laptop, office desktop, home desktop, and assistance desktop. Trust me it is worth it if you are in business!!
I pay $6.95 for my exchange hosting, and trust me it is worth every penny!! It looks like they raised their price to $8.95 but here's the link http://www.sherweb.com/hosted-exchange |

Mail2web IS THE EXACT SAME THING YOU PAY FOR, its a FULL exchange server, BUT! it has a (i think) 10 meg limit... but i have it forward my work email so i can just get the email on my phone and delete it, keeping a backup in my work email... And it syncs calendars, contacts, emails, and tasks perfect... Has a full web Exchange layout, with a mobile login for access from the phone... and its free

It seems to me that going back to the Palm regardless how outdated was the route to go. I mean the guy probably needs his contact info to function for business purposes and what not. Wether it's a device issue or a software issue, the fact of the matter is that software manufactures and cell phone manufactures are obviously not on the same page. Probably by design by the way. I applaud dude for bringing this issue to the forum, because he just might help prevent the next unsuspecting consumer from going through the same BS. Go Old Palm! Go! Go! Go! Hell it works dont try to fix it.
