Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I concur this is an issue with the Touch, not the card. I have tried Sandisk card and then Kingston. BOTH got corrupted after about 2-3 months. So I used the card from my Mogul (Kingston), which worked for the last 6 months. Guess what? Yesterday it got CORRUPTED again.

I tested the last card (from the Mogul) after hard reset, so no programs running.

This is the same problem with the HTC Artemis (search XDA Developer). Problem is, sometimes the card went bad completely that I can't even format it in Windows (XP and Vista).

This is really pissed me off... HTC quality seems to go down the drain.

I wonder who will be the first XV6900 to report this problem

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I've had my xv6900 for less than a week with a sandisk 4gb card. It worked great initially then - wham - unable to access data on card.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I lost data on my stock 512 card today. The only thing I noticed differently from how I normally use it was that I let it run down to the point that it would not wake up and I had to soft reset it to wake up. I normally don't let it run down too low, with a charger at work and at home and in the car, it usually stay pretty well charged. The only thing that the vouge see is the inbox for my email, my PC sees all the folders but will not open some, because they have been corrupted.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

Just to let people know the status on my findings. I have not had any issues with my 8gb sandisk since the seller replaced it and I turned off auto turn off feature on the phone.

I still have never had a problem with any other size, from 512 to 4gb in my touch either. I have had it 80% full since, switched between my 6800 and 6900 often, but also making sure I power down the device before moving the card.

Ah, I also switch directories in the file explorers to the device when I am done, just as a precaution.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

The only problem I had came about the first week, after using a SD adapter with my card to try and read and copy to it with my laptop. I didn't realize that the phone was using some kind of compression. The data on the card became unreadable after that. I bought a new 4GB card a couple of months ago and haven't had a single problem. I now connect with the USB cable and use explorer like I'm supposed to.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

This bites. The memory slot is just completely useless. I'd like to buy a large card and keep music on the phone but I just can't with things as they are. Mine continually fails if I use it for anything like podcasts with newsbreak.
