How I format it is by taking it out of the Touch. Don't know of any way to have Touch do it for you, and I just searched the User Guide. So, my suggestion is to get a USB adaptor, like this one. It closes up completely so you can carry it nicely without worry of pocket fuzz, etc.

Plug this into the USB port on a PC, it'll be given a drive letter, double click on My Computer, right click on that new drive, and choose Format from the menu.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

Well, it happened to me this morning, and Sprite Backup was not able to help because the Sprite files were installed to the card. The only thing of consequence I lost were pictures - I made copies of all the apps/cab files on my destop, so it was easy to re-install everything.

When I was a Palm user I installed copies of BackupBuddy on both the card and the device, and I kept backup files on both. Does anyone know if it is possible to do so with Sprite?

You can re-format the card in the Touch if you have Resco File Explorer or a similar app.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I have not. I've had my phone for almost three months.

I have my Outlook attachments storing on the memory card.

I have my GPS maps (tomtom) on the storage card.

I have about 1gb of music files on the storage card.

No problems so far.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

Well my problems I guess went away? I had problems and tried re-formatting a bunch of times with the same errors(getting corrupt errors in media player and when transferring new files on). Then on the like fourth time everything is working fine, well see how long this last.
