Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I bought a 4GB SDHC card several weeks ago and everything was working great for awhile. Now everytime I try to access my music through WMP it says files are corrupted.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I've had my 8gb sandisk (ebay version) for a week more or less now. After reading about the problem with other HTC devices and the suggestion of, turning off auto hibernate. I've not had a problem with my replacement. Even hibernating it manually without a problem.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

For everyone who claims to not have had the problem, I would challenge you (if you have the time/desire) to install and use NewsBreak (RSS reader) and have it store it's channel data on the card. As soon as I do that, I get corruption within about 48 hours. (sometimes once per day) If I have it store the data in the internal memory, no corruption at all.

Interestingly, even if I turn off the "auto-update" feature of NewsBreak (which means it will fetch new news every N hours) and go with the completely manual style of updating news, I still get corruption. It must not flush those writes immediately to the card or something...

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I've had my phone for 5 weeks and have a retail SanDisk 8gb HD card and never had a problem. I use the card for photos, videos and music with TCMP and WMP.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I have not had any problems with any of my phones and memory cards. Of course, I avoid E-Bay, CheepCards-R-Us, and ONLY buy reputable name brand cards from reputable businesses. I do not skimp on something that I expect to hold and maintain whatever I decide to put on the card. I do however backup weekly, still. I also avoid programs from hobbyist. I see this everyday, well it was only $10 at walmart...If you would have bought a decent one to begin with, you would have saved some money and your headache. (I helped a customer today who had replaced their walmart item 4 times) I am a fairly cheap person in general. I just don't skimp on my electronic gadgets, rum, women, or smokes.

I agree, its like when people come into my store they want a cheap aftermarket cla for a $500 phone..

btw.. what brands do you recommend for a mem card?

Im using a sandisk 2gig card. I havent had any corruption for the few months that I have been using it but just the other day my pictures and music got corrupted.

Heh thats great..except your assumption is that those of us with issues skimped on the memory cards. I not only had corruptions with the 512 meg transcend card that came with it, but with the 6gb Sandisk card that I got at Amazon.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I've had the SD 4MB card for about 3 months now without any problems. The first card I had (SD 1MB) would lose files. When I got the 4MB card I also flashed my ROM with OMJ ROM. I'm not sure if this has anything to do with the card or not.
