Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I'm a prospective Touch buyer, and honestly, just seeing the number of people who're having issues with the memory card is sure scaring me away from buying it.
Maybe a poll on this thread will give a fair idea as to how many Touch users actually have this issue.
Is there something officially being done my HTC to fix this issue? (I'm sure its a firmware bug exclusive to this model, since we don't see the Mogul owners complaining)
A heads up on this thorny issue would be nice. I do hope quite a few of the users who've had a rough deal on this are seriously taking up the case with their service providers, and more importantly, getting the service provider to pressure HTC into fixing it.

I've honestly NEVER had my memory card go corrupt. I've made it a habit of closing everything when I'm done with it. It has been said that if you leave an app open that is using the memory card, if the app is open and the phone goes into standby, that's what causes the issue.

So if you use the File Explorer, close it when you're done, Pictures/Album - close it when you're done, Audio Manager/Media Player - close it when you're done, etc.

As others have stated, the new Alltel ROM and ROMs with the new 3.xx radios seem to be better. I have been using a custom 6.1 3.xx ROM for a while now and I've left apps open that access the storage card and I have not had my card corrupted yet.

Thank you mindfrost. The thing is, I'm not based in the US or Canada and I'm trying to get one down to my country so that I can use it on our local cdma network. Once I get it activated on the local service provider's network I'm sure my warranty and everything else is gonna be tossed. I'm actually getting a Sprint version of the phone, so I don't know how practical it would be to flash that model with an Alltel ROM, as I'd already read on some other thread that it would probably brick the phone.
When its a case of importing a phone, voiding its warranty & to get it to work, I guess I'm a little more than nervous when I read up scary info like corrupt mem cards and stuff lol
Thanks once again mate, your information was a great help. ( I would have thanked you , but since these are my initial posts I guess that thank button isn't activated for me as yet. I'll be back to give it a click when I can get it to work, which I hope is in the next couple of days)

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

I used to have almost daily memory card corruption on Sprint Touch requiring a soft reset (and on rare occasions, format). About 2 weeks ago, I enabled GPS and Rev A by installing the Alltel ROM and JD's ROM. I haven't had card corruption yet. I've been using the same programs except for Resco Radio (haven't had time to update the stations). So either the Alltel ROM fixed things, or Resco Radio caused all the problems. I watch movies on my Touch, the card is accessed pretty frequently.

Re: Who has NOT had memory card issues with the Touch?

Had my touch for a about 6 months and last week my card stopped working. My touch doesn't recognize the card at all. I tried swapping cards w/ my bro which still doesn't show up. After i do the swap my bro has trouble reading his card also, but after a reset it shows up again. Have anyone else had this problem or is it a defect on my phone?
