I'm not sure what's going on here... but this is what I've done so far:
- flashed Sprint leaked... skipped customizations
- opened File Explorer, went to \windows -> show all files
- installed the PPST cab
- ran PPST.exe
- it said "Failed to backup EFS" and rebooted.
- downloaded the Sprint_PPST.cab from this thread
- installed, it gave me a bunch of warnings saying it's already installed... i continued.
- it said install of the CAB failed.
- I ran PPST.exe again. This time it worked and rebooted.
- Here's the very interesting part::::
When it rebooted I had the new PRI and everything still working (phone, network, etc)???
WTF?

- I flashed a PPCkitchen ROM, then hard reset before the new OS loaded.
- Google Maps still shows the same number of satellites as before for the same position (3-5). Any ideas or comments?
If I leave the GPS for a while I do get 6-8 sat locks (GMaps)... I haven't seen that before inside my home. I'll test some more outside tomorrow.

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

I wonder if the ppst.exe is backing up your current settings and the current prl before applying the new 2.03. If so, I wonder if the ##786 reverse reset takes the backup and restores it, yet still retaining what ever flags it sets for gps in the prl area??? I mention this because of the "failed to backup efs" error you got the first time. It leads me to believe maybe it's backing up something related to the prl.

Have you done the ##786 reset yet?

No, everything is working... so I don't see the need to do that?

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

To get a consistent GPS fix I have to run the ppst.exe on a regular basis.

Once ran it takes 10 seconds to get a fix.

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

One question, would one have to flash to a sprint rom, and let the customization run/not run. Or is it enough just to run the PPST once to upgrade the PRI?

Based on what I know... if you aren't Sprint... DON'T let the customizations run.

In my case, Bell Mobility, I was able to just flash the Sprint Leaked Rom (to install the 3.x radio) and then I installed the Sprint PPST cab from this thread.... which creates the ppst.exe. I ran that and it updated the PRI with no ill effects to the operation of the phone. I've run ppst.exe multiple times since as a test and I still have the updated PRI and no problems. I've been reading some other threads here on PPCgeeks and it looks like other Bell customers have the same results... just don't let the customization run. Again, of course at your own risk for this stuff.

ps. I believe the PPST cab actually exists in \windows on the Sprint ROM but I didn't have any luck with it for some reason which is why i installed the one from the thread.

Re: Sprint still having GPS problems? Try this!

you dont need to flash the sprint rom. you just need the sprint PRI and a PPST that supports ##786, which the Sprint PPST does. I will post the need pieces later

1) Download, install and run the sprint ppst
2)Obtain your MSL
3)##786# and click menu>reset. Enter your MSL
4)*22803>option 2
5)*22803>option 1
6)flash your desired rom

Without doing 2>5, you will get damn annoying IOTA errors, but everything still works. Good Luck
Maybe this is a noob question but i googled it first and it seemed to have no accurate answer... How do you get your MSL? I seem to have read in my search you have to call customer service... Is that hte only way?
