Ok, just tried it. I changed the PagePool to 16MB before installing it. Oddly, right after the ROM installed and whenever I do a hard reset, it still runs that Sprint customization thing though I can't find any of the Sprint customizations after it's done running that customization thing and resets the device. After the ROM is installed and after a hard reset with this ROM there is something in the "Remove Programs" screen in Settings. It's the only thing in there: Customization Customize_tool Also, there's no easy to access task killer now like the one in the stock Sprint ROM for the Touch (the drop down menu on the top right of the today screen that lets you close programs or the one in the start menu in the other WM6.1 ROM). I really preferred the task killer in the stock Sprint ROM (the drop down menu at the top right corner of the today screen). The battery meter is also like the one in the stock Sprint ROM (small battery icon next to where the drop down task killer menu would be). The battery meter in the other 6.1 ROM I tried was a color bar at the very top of the screen. Is that the normal 6.1 battery meter or is the normal 6.1 battery meter the same as the one in the stock Sprint ROM? So far everything seems good. If possible, could you add that drop down menu task killer to the today screen again? Also, would it be possible to change the left soft-key (normally the "Calendar" key) to the SMS key? Change "Calendar" to "SMS" and make it open text messaging? Finally, the option under the "Personal" tab in Settings that lets us have the big start menu would be great as well. Thanks again for this! Last edited by IsLNdbOi; 02-10-2008 at 08:59 PM. |

I'll have to look into the task manager app. I'm also adding the large start menu. The colored battery bar at the top of my other ROM, is vistahide battery gauge, it is an addon. the battery icon next to the task manager is the standard. As far as changing the softkeys, you're going to have to change them yourself, do a search on the forum, it's explained somewhere, but I have not had the desire to do it.

I don't think it's possible to remove it. I have the Bell (canadian) version and now I have both the Bell and the Sprint Ahead at boot-up (and I did do the soft-reset before the stuff installs) So I don't think a modifying a "rom" will actually do anything to it. |

I'm having a problem with my added words not saving. I tried to add new words by clicking the + sign, multi-tap them in, press enter. If I try to re-enter the same word, it won't show up in the word selection list thing.
Another thing I noticed thats different is if I type in letters using XT9 that aren't in the dictionary, it just erases everything i typed rather than leave random jumble of letters. Is this due to the HTC keyboard you used?? |

Yeah, I had a whole section in my regedits that actually stopped the whole calibration, timezone, and ext rom nonsense. I think there was a couple of regedits that need to take place to turn off the customizations. I'll have to look it up this evening, or you might want to take a look at my original RGU I have also been having a real blast trying to figure out the issue with the touch keyboard myself. It loves to mess up within IE. I have tried using two different packages and trying to build my own package. I wish I could get it to work in my rom. |

What I meant was that when you bootup the phone, you get the "Sprint Ahead" logo and stuff, right? Well, I'm saying that the logo at bootup cannot be removed since I am not with Sprint and never had it until I installed the custom rom. And now, I have both the Sprint Ahead and the regular blue screen from Bell showing at boot up. The programss stuff, that's understable that it's removable. But for me to have both the Bell and the Sprint boot up? It's weird huh? |
