PS I did not see this post before I started the process of calling both HTC and Asurion.
You should be able to get a TP2 if you call Asurion directly. They will try to offer you other devices, but just say none of them are comparable and they will eventually offer you TP2. Good luck!

I have the insurance plan and all I did was call them direct. I made it sound like I wanted a touch pro.. After she gave me all the other phones as an option, I just asked why cant I just get a touch pro... and I nicely told her that none of those phone can match up to what the TP can do. I didnt ask to speak to supervisor and she placed me on hold one last time and bingo!

Got the document stuff. Pretty sure this is for people that have filed a claim before.

Called back to ask about the out of stock problem, she wouldn't give me any information until my "documents" were in. No use in sending them in and paying $100 if I am not sure of the TP2 replacement.

Wow, this sucks for me. On the warranty option I took a blackberry tour for a touch pro a few days ago. Then yesterday I see this thread . I called them yesterday and told them i didn't like the blackberry and they are sending me a touch pro again. So hopefully I will be able to do this. So does anybody know how long you have to have a phone on your account before you can file an insurance claim?

They offered a Treo Pro or a Tour. Said I had both a blackberry and palm and did not like them. I also said how are they on the same level with my touch pro. I said the keyboard on both is exposed and that is not what I wanted. They offered me the TP2. I took it hand over foot.
