Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?
You know it really depends on the user for what you should run (Stock or Custom).
If you just use the phone for Calls. Text, Email and Internet then 9 times out of 10 Stock is just fine! Just as having a celeron chip in your computer and an onboard video card is perfectly fine for someone who just uses internet and office on their personal computer! If you make a lot of tweaks to the stock rom then you should look at flashing a custom CLEAN rom with all the tweaks in it already and all the space in the world to add the custom apps you intend to use. Even better find a kitchen and cook a clean rom with the programs you want cooked in. You will get a much better user experience in the end. There are other users who flash every 5 days whenever a new rom comes out. It's kind of an addiction if you ask me and I do not really suggest this as an option for anyone. It is the main reason why the OP believes that custom roms are buggy because most of these newly released rom DO have bugs either because of a flaky or missed settings or because they are chock filled with BETA software that has bugs itself! People also try to load as much as possible into a rom...this is definitly NOT suggested anymore than using a stock loaded rom from a carrier! To each his own I say...I also use my phone to manage my networks and infrastructure. A Stock ROM simply doesn't have the tools or the space to add them. I have cooked my own (6.1 with Rhodium from Caulkin) and I have saved that ROM so when I had to replace my TP it was just a matter of flashing MY stock rom onto the device! No 30 tweaks...no looking for cabs...No new learning curve because it works and act just like the phone I had before! TAL - The Ram limitation really isn't as bad as Sprint guys make it out to be... There is very little operational difference between a 24 MB PP and an 8-12! It really only comes into play for people who have to have every WM application that exists sitting idle on their phone because they never use it! To me that is like installing IIS on a computer that has no network card! I install what I use and never have memory issues! |

I am curious to know what apps you use to manage your network, what operations you perform and how much space is required .Thxxx

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?
no i hate the stock rom. Custom roms are simple and easy to use like Mighty.

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?
But the OP was passing judgment on custom roms in his statement that they don't work as well as the stocker. It's fine to be happy with the stocker and not wanting to change it.... but it was an incorrect blanket statement.

Re: Am I the only one who likes stock rom?
Some people prefer stock. Some people prefer custom roms...
Must we be fanboys to the point of arguing? Justa agree to disagree. I prefer stock roms right now, because I never know when my stupid keyboard is going to die. LOL
